AMANDA
I'd gotten to bed by one which was good for me, but I broke my three-hour promise and ended up playing and chatting to my viewers for five hours. Coffee was the main thing keeping me awake because it always took me a few days to adjust to a new place so my sleep pattern would be a little out of whack for a while, also Brighton had bloody loud seagulls.
Felix said the office was ten minutes away but knowing me I'd get lost walking in a straight line so I set off twenty minutes early to give myself some wiggle room. Strolling down the streets I take in just how different Brighton was to Manchester, it was a lot more peaceful despite being heading to work and having things to do.
After a couple of detours, all planned I make it to the office with five minutes to spare and get in with ease because the receptionist said she was expecting me.
"Hello Amanda, or should I call you MandaPanda?"
I jump out of my skin hearing Felix's voice right behind me.
"Hello Felix, so you know my secret identity."
He nods, "I told a couple of my friends who I hired and one said I should check out Twitch and a gamer called MandaPanda. Then I made the link between your Twitter and Instagram handle."
I shrug my shoulders, "does this change anything, Felix?"
"Not at all, now I know you really know your stuff," he replies with a hint of amusement in his voice.
He walks off down a random hallway and I hastily follow after him. I guess I needed to know where the office was in case he wanted me to do work from here. It looked like we were the only two people in the whole building.
"Have a seat, I recommend the bean bag. Can I get you a drink?"
"No thank I'm good."
I fall into the large white bean bag and never want to get out of it. Felix makes himself some coffee before sitting down opposite me.
"Do you have a YouTube channel, Amanda?"
"I try and Twitch three times a week which wouldn't leave me room to make YouTube videos as well."
Felix snaps his fingers, "Well then your first job working for me is to make yourself a YouTube channel under the name MandaPanda. Then I can introduce you as my production assistant on my channel. Yes, I like the sound of that."
I stare at my new boss slightly stunned as to what he was saying, and then I smile in realisation at what he was doing. I was too lazy to make a YouTube channel but now I had motivation.
"I'd hate to let you down Felix so I'll make myself a channel if that's what the job requires."
He grins like an idiot, "yes it's what I require so chop chop, Amanda."
I salute him and take my laptop from my bag. It wasn't hard to make a YouTube account with the username MandaPanda which surprised me because I assumed someone would have taken it and used that against me.
"Done Felix, now I need a profile picture, a banner and one of those catchy about me bios."
Felix looks up from his own laptop, "use your Twitch icon, you can make a banner later and for the about section keep it basic and add all your social media."
I fill in the about me and link all my social media including my Twitch account then close my laptop.
"Now what boss?"
"We introduce you to the world. This part I'm very excited about Amanda."
~After Intro Video~
"I'll edit this now Amanda. Why don't you take a look at my schedule and get familiar with everything? Also, I need some new video ideas if you're up to that task today."
I nod, "no problem Felix."
Felix leaves the room and I slouch back in the bean bag. I had a tonne of video ideas, I just needed to figure out his upload schedule because he didn't seem to have a fixed one anymore. Luckily he'd linked me to his account so I could view and edit his calendar and schedule.
After logging in I discover he was supposed to collab with Jacksepticeye later today and he had no video planned. I had to come up with something funny but also crude. A bottle of water sat next to me on the floor and since I'd never been successful in the past I decided to flip it, and to my amazement, I succeed.
"It's uploading now Amanda. What's on your mind?"
Felix returns to the room, his eyes glued to his phone.
"You're filming with Sean later and have no video planned. You could do the bottle flip challenge and whoever loses has to click on Reddit 50/50."
He looks up from his phone and smirks, "I like your thinking Amanda. Sean will also like it. Do you want to meet him?"
I watched Sean's videos religiously. I pretty much followed most of the gamers on YouTube. I'd always wanted to go conventions and events to even have a chance of meeting any of them, but I didn't think I was good enough so never went.
"Yes, please. So working for you does have its benefits."
Felix gasps, "so you're using me for my connections Amanda, luckily for you, I approve."
Bowing from the bean bag I smile at Felix, "we'll achieve great things together boss man."
Felix laughs loudly, "I like you very much, Amanda."
