Dear Misty,
How are you? I have had a great holiday I was in France seeing my family. What have you been doing? I hope to see you soon. Are you coming over to Poppy's tomorrow?
Best Regards,
Faith
I was sitting in the attic of the house of the Macfees. I had come here to stay because my parents had left to the Ministry of Magic, they had told me it would take two weeks but they ended up having to stay for two months. Ava, Faith's parent's owl sat on my desk. All the things I could use were old and worn out, I was happy I had my clothes with me. Ivy had been forbidden to move about due to the dog named Buddy, so I had to keep her in a cage. Buddy was a Jack Russell Terrier. He disliked me as well, probably because I was much like a cat. Ava had arrived at around about six o'clock, I had been up practicing my spells at the only time possible so I had noticed her.
Dear Faith,
I'm well all though it is a little difficult with these American Muggles. I was with them on the holidays here, not the best but I'm happy they gave me the attic where the owls can bring me your letters and gifts. I am coming tomorrow since my parents are getting back from the Ministry they will bring me. Hope to see you soon.
Best Wishes,
Misty
I wrote my reply and tied it to Ava's leg then I opened the window to let her go. It was just in time because the door opened instantly and I shut the window fast and turned around to see who it was.
"MISTY! Get downstairs and do the breakfast already!" at the door stood a girl, she was short and chubby, and her piggy little grey eyes gleamed with anger, her dark hair was messy from waking up. Her name was Harriet she was my worst nightmare with her croaky high pitched voice, and evil tattle telling ways.
"Fine, Alright, I'm coming." I turned sleepily.
"Well you better, ah." She ran out of the room and down the stairs. I changed out of my pyjamas and in to a jean jacket and my brown trousers. I started down to the bottom, the house was five stories, the kitchen and the living room were on the bottom floor then it was the parents room and then Harriet's room and then Caitlin's room and last of all the attic. The carpeted walls on the sides of the stairs comforted me and I remained sleepy. I had forgotten a lot about transforming and now that I knew the New Year was coming I had started practicing. I walked down to the fourth floor slowly. I stopped at Caitlin's room and felt the soft carpeted floor on my toes. The house was pretty warm and the colour scheme was beige. I knocked on Caitlin's door, she normally slept in and I woke her up every morning to get ready for breakfast, I thought Caitlin was much the opposite of her sister, she was kind, fun and secretive.
"Thanks for waking me up today Misty, I was having I really bad dream." Caitlin stood at the door her eyes half closed. She was a little shorter than me and pretty thin compared to her sister she had blonde hair up to her chest, and deep blue eyes.
"No problem, I'm going to do breakfast." I rushed down three flights of stairs to the kitchen. The kitchen was mostly grey there was several cupboards, a fridge and the oven and stoves. It was full of different shades of grey except for the little wooden brown table that was in the middle of the room. In the living room, this was just next to the kitchen with no wall or door dividing the two rooms, sat Mr and Mrs Macfee. Mr Macfee had been the one who opened the door when I arrived, he was short and fat and had very little hair on his head, every morning he sat at the table and read the Daily Brittan newspaper, today he wore a red and white checked shirt with Black trousers and a belt he always tucked in his shirt, he said it made himself look proper. Mrs Macfee on the other hand was thin and tall with blonde hair, her eyes were blue and she was almost an exact duplicate of Caitlin, today she wore a short sleeved red dress and lots of makeup, I stared at her gleaming red high heels.
"Don't stare at me get on with the breakfast!" Mrs Macfee screamed at me. Startled, I jumped into work, they had given me their whole menu and I had memorised it. Today was a Saturday so they wanted beans, 'Sunnyside up', as they would say, bacon and toast. I finished quickly and divided it into four, I always left some for myself. As soon as the girls got down I served the food onto the table. I always had to go outside to eat so I left the room as soon as they started. They had a beautiful garden so I didn't mind it, the garden was a big field lined with apple trees there were loads of different kinds of flowers the flowers made it truly colourful. Outside was the only place I dared to practice my transformation, I transformed then ate, I did practice in my room at night but I was extremely alert. Now I sat outside in the morning with the breeze blowing at me. The food was great but I waited outside watching the plants move in the breeze. As I watched closely I saw a cat, he walked by a hole in the two bushes at the back by the wall and he looked up at me. His yellow eyes gleamed so bright it hurt my eyes, so I looked away. When I looked back I saw the tip of his tail disappear into the green leaves of the bush. He was a brown cat and somehow I felt that he was not really a cat, I wondered why he had been there. I walked slowly into the house again. The Macfee's had left the table at their usual time and I emptied the table and washed the plates. I was happy that tonight I would be leaving for the magic world, finally able to use magic. I was most happy that I got to see my parents again and most curious as to why they had gone for so long. After I had finished I rushed up to the attic. I had to finish packing my trunk with all my clothes for Poppy's house hopefully we can go home and collected more when mum and dad come. As soon as I finish I look at Ivy. She is in her cage sleeping, I really want to cuddle her but I haven't been allowed for two months. I gave her food and water every day, her food was normally the big bag of cat food I carried around it, wasn't the type you get in the muggle world but the type I got from Gobble Street, It was supposed to be really good for them making them healthy, and the food was sort of alive. It made Ivy's teeth strong and shiny and her fur nice and soft, that's why I bought two when I was there. Well as I got close to finishing my packing Harriet walked in.
"You know Misty. It's been great fun getting to tell you what to do, I am really upset that you're going. So you have to make me lunch and then I want you to go and get me some cookies from the cookie tin in the top cupboard of the kitchen. Alright!" All though I wasn't scared of Harriet I did these things for her, because she had many things that she could do that I wished she would not do. I made lunch for everyone, and as I was doing it there was no one in site so I climbed up got the biscuit tin or as Harriet said 'cookie tin' and brought it down, I took out three and stuffed them in my pocket and carefully put the tin back. I finished making lunch quickly and lay the meal on the table.
"Lunch is ready." I called up to the Macfee's. They ate and I brought my lunch up to my room and ate there.
"Misty! Come wash the plates." I heard Mr Macfee's loud booming voice. I hurried downstairs with my plate. After I finished washing the dishes Harriet came up to me.
"Did you get them?" She questioned looking at me.
"Yes..." I told her in a soft voice and handed the three biscuits over to her.
