I woke up, I was still a cat. Something I didn't really understand was why I changed into a cat at night without even knowing. I had slept in, again. I realised everyone had left already. It was quiet downstairs and I noticed it was dark as well. Then I realised that it was my birthday today. I was turning 12 although all the other girls had already turned 12 and were turning 13 this year, but I didn't mind the fact that I was younger than the others. I thought a little and then I knew why it was so quiet they were planning a surprise. They were quiet because they knew I could hear them otherwise, but I hope Poppy's family didn't know my secret, because it should stay a secret for the reason that I didn't want the Ministry to know how much I actually knew about myself. I quickly got up dressed into my jeans, belt, which I always wore so I could keep my wand in it and my grey long top with tails on each side. Then I did my hair in a side braid something Fern would be proud of me for. When I felt birthday dressed. I rushed downstairs pretending I didn't know half of what they were planning. When I reached downstairs, just as I had suspected,

"Happy Birthday!" Everyone screamed.

"Thanks for remembering." I was over happy. On the table was bacon and eggs in all different forms. There were baked beans, sausages, fried bread and mushrooms. To drink they had tea, hot chocolate and even hot milk. It was amazing, I was truly grateful. We all sat down to eat and we had a great time everyone talked and joked and teased me the most about how much older they were than me.

"When are you turning 13 again, Charlotte?" Hailey giggled as she asked.

"In August, my young friends." Charlotte replied with snigger.

The morning was going smoothly and when everyone had eaten as much as they could another surprise was waiting for me. Poppy's mother came out of the kitchen with a huge birthday cake. It was an pancake cake with ice cream in between and strawberry and blueberry decorations. It was magnificent.

"Oh my god! Did you all make this together?" I asked in amazement.

"We helped." Charlotte answered.

"Which of course in Charlotte's dictionary means, we watched." Poppy giggled. It seemed reasonably true though, since the cake was so perfect. Then something I really didn't expect happened. They brought out gifts to the table. This was a birthday I had never expected and it was greater than any I had had already.

"Happy Birthday to you, Happy Birthday to you," Poppy's father started as he turned the lights off again with his wand. It was magical. After the song, cake was cut up for everyone. It tasted as good as it looked and I liked it, since I am quite picky when it comes to cake. Afterwards everyone grabbed their presents and I was handed a bottle to spin.

"I'll explain how you do it in this world." Tori started. "You'll need your wand. Then just recite the spell, Moveatur Motu! Then when you move your wand you spin it and the bottle will spin, because the object is moving as you move. When you want to stop you flick your wand upward, alright?"

"Okay." I replied. I hesitated, got out my wand and then, "Moveatur Motu!" I spun my wand around and quickly flicked it up. The bottle kept spinning until it started to slow down, it stopped, pointing at Poppy.

"This is from me and my family," she handed me a purple glittering package with a see through blue ribbon on it. I carefully unwrapped the beautiful package.

"Oh my goodness, that'll take you years!" Hailey told me impatiently. She took out her long black wand and pointed it at my package. "Aperi!" The package unwrapped it's self. Inside was a hairband, it had blue and purple stones on it that made butterflies. I picked it up.
