You were AJ's girlfriend and had been for nearly two years and his brand new song, Used To Be, that you had no idea was being made into a record, had just been released. You were upset and angry because you knew it could only be aimed at you. But the truth is, what AJ was implying in the song, was nothing like who you were. You had been the same person since the start of the relationship and now he wants the girl you 'used to be'.
"He better answer this phone call." You mumbled resting on your arm on the balcony of the Martinez Twins Room.
"Hello babe." He cheered through the phone, but you weren't happy.
"I know you wrote Used To Be on a sheet of paper and sung it as like a sort of starting point AJ, but you released it and put it on Itunes and all sorts." You sighed not even saying hello back to him.
"Right, Y/N, I know it looks bad." He started but you cut him off.
"Looks bad? AJ everyone thinks I'm using you. As we speak, I'm getting sent hundreds of messages telling me that I'm now the number one hated teenager because I'm apparently gonna end up breaking up with you. It's not just bad babe, the song makes me look like someone I'm seriously not." You groaned.
"Listen to me instead of cutting me off Y/N. Yeah the song was made years ago, and yeah it was a starting point. But who said it was aimed at you? Who said the song was even written from my perspective? I might have written the lyrics, but it doesn't mean it came from what I was feeling." He told you, you hadn't really thought about that side of things.
"It's just not very clear that it's not coming from your perspective you know? I guess I didn't really think that far through, plus the song made me think that you were upset with me or something." You admitted.
"I know, I should've told you and made it clear, I'll tweet about it in a minute, don't worry, it's not about you okay Y/N babe, now Andy wants me back in the studio, but I'll call you back later, I love you." AJ told you, you let out a sigh or relief.
"I love you too Rock star."
