YELLO I'm back after almost a month lol school has been wack. Those of you who requested I'm still working on them but meanwhile enjoy a cute lil Sam fic

The rain poured heavily onto the hood of your car. "How the hell am I going to get out of here?" you mumbled to yourself bitterly as you watched the drops roll down your window. It wasn't forecast to rain, and you conveniently had no umbrella with you. Realizing it was now or never, you opened your car door quickly, pulling your jacket hood over your head and running into the coffee shop. Although you'd been in the rain only a couple seconds, you were almost completely soaked. You ran into the booth right next to the door, your regular spot. Sighing, you took your jacket off and looked down at your soaking shirt. "Shit" you whispered.

You froze as you heard someone clear their throat. You looked up with wide eyes to see a young, long haired man sat in front of a computer right across from you. "Uh..hi." was all you managed to say, studying the attractive male before he replied "Hi, can I help you?" he asked. You mentally slapped yourself "Oh shit, i'm sorry I just sat here, usually this is where I sit and it was raining and you've never been here before and..." he chuckled at how flustered you got. "It's okay, i'd welcome the company actually. I'm Sam by the way. I'm just in town for some...business." he smiled warmly at you , which caused you to ease up. "I'm Y/N." you replied with a small smile "If you'll excuse me, i'll be right back. I'm going to get a drink." he nodded and you got up, setting your jacket on the booth seat.

After grabbing your drink and a pastry, you sat back down, continuing your conversation with Sam. "You said you were in town on business, what do you do?" you asked. He tensed up a little and shifted in his seat "Actually i'm-uhhhhh- i'm in the FBI." he said, seeming unsure of his answer. You cocked your brow "And you're holed away in a tiny cafe? Did someone die here?" you asked jokingly with mock wide eyes. He chuckled "No, it's nothing big, just something in town we were called to look into. I came here to research for the case, it's quiet and has coffee." You looked at his computer "Researching for an FBI case in this town, do tell me more." you wiggled your eyebrows "Sorry," he said, closing his laptop "It's confidential, FBI only." you waved your fist in the air "Darn" you cursed, chuckling along with him. He gave you a 'what are ya gonna do?' face.  You just now noticed his dimples, and now you couldn't stop looking at them. He looked awfully young, and handsome, to be an FBI agent. You studied his face more.

"So," he continued, taking a sip from his coffee "What do you do for a living?" you were surprised by his genuine interest in your life, even though you just met. "I'm a historian, actually. But these days I mostly restore old books." he mouthed a 'wow' and looked impressed. "That's so cool. I would have never pegged you as a historian." You raised an eyebrow "Why is that?" you asked, sipping from your coffee "Well, it's just, you look really young." You giggled. "Not all historians have to be 70 year old men, Sam." he blushed and laughed "I know, but it's still surprising."

You both talked for hours, so engrossed in conversation that you'd just noticed it had stopped raining outside. You both had a lot in common, from your similar childhoods to your love for books.  He was genuine and kind, and you couldn't help but to develop an infatuation with the stranger you were just getting to know.  "Well, I should probably be off," Sam said, grabbing his now empty cup. "Early start tomorrow, lots of top secret researching to do." You grabbed your cup as well "Yep, got lots of history to restore and protect too." you both chuckled for what seemed like the hundredth time today as you were about to part ways. "See you around, agent." you saluted him. He flashed that beautiful, dimpled smile one more time "See you around, Y/N." He walked you to your car and you drove off, mentally cursing yourself for not getting his number.

The next day --

It was raining again, but this time you were safe inside the library, where you worked. You sorted out the classics and folklore section of the library, picking out books that needed to be mended. You cradled the broken books in your arms as you turned around, almost bumping into an incredibly tall figure. "Oh i'm sorry I-Sam?" you looked up at the familiar boyish smile as he greeted you. "Y/N? What are the odds?" you shrugged "I kinda work here." the connection clicked in his mind "Ah, makes sense" he responded. "Why are you here?" you asked, eyeing the folklore books in his arms with curiosity. He followed your eyes and looked back up "It's a hobby of mine." he said with a goofy grin. You eyed him suspiciously "Okay then... do you need help checking those out?" you asked. He shook his head "I'm not checking these out sadly, probably leaving town tomorrow." you sighed quietly

"Well, I forgot to give you something." you started, taking a pen and paper bookmark out of your pocket before scribbling something on it "If you ever happen to wonder back into town, on top secret business or for your hobby." you handed him your number written on the paper and he smirked at you as he took it from you. "I forgot to give you something yesterday too." he said. You furrowed your brow as he leaned in slowly, placing a small, soft kiss on your lips. Just then, his phone rang. He sighed as you parted. "Duty calls." he said as you nodded "I understand" you told him, smiling wider than you had done before as the feeling of his lips lingered on yours "I can take your books." he thanked you and handed them to you. "See you around, Y/N" he said before answering the phone and walking swiftly out of the building
