I don't think I've ever seen Dad pray more than he has when he thinks of Whizzer. He prayed when they were first together. When they broke-up. And now when he was gone.

I would hear snippets of Dad's prayers when I went to his room to say good-night. It was always about how he would do anything to wake up the next day, and realize this was all just an awful nightmare.

But he always woke up, a mix of anger and sadness. And the nightmare would continue.
