I was confused when Dad went back to his...his semi-violent ways. Mendel had said after bargaining came depression, so why was he acting like this again. 

Mendel tried to explain that the stages weren't a linear line. Even though traditionally depression should've come next, each person's grief is different. A person can fluctuate between different stages at anytime. 

It was hard to hear this, I admit. Knowing Dad could seem like he was getting better, but then he could go back to being in denial or being angry all the time. I didn't know how to handle it.
