Chapter 23

Your POV

~the following morning~

You heard someone knock on the front door and felt Kakashi stir beside you. 'If I don't answer they might leave.' You thought lazily. The knocks became louder. "Look (y/n), I know you're in there and if you don't open the door now I will break it down!" You heard someone shout. "One minute please!" You shouted back. You stood up and got dressed as fast as you could and ran to the door. When you opened it you saw Minato standing there. "Hey (y/n), can I come in?" He asked with a smile. "Yes of course, hokage-sama." You said and opened the door for him. "(Y/n), you know that I don't want you to call me that when we aren't discussing anything formal." He said. "Oh, okey Minato-sensei." You said awkwardly. As you walked down the hallway you saw clothing scattered across the floor. 'Oops.' You rushed towards them, then grabbed them and threw them into your bedroom before Minato could get any ideas of what had happened last night. "Oh and (y/n), I know that Kakashi's here so can you please get him?" He asked kindly. You nodded and walked into your bedroom.

"Oi Kakabaka wake up. Hokage-sama's here." You said as you shook his shoulder. After a few minutes he finally woke up. "Five more minutes please." He mumbled. "You have got to be kidding me Kakashi. Sensei is here, for fucks sake. He wanted to talk to us." You slightly raised your voice. "Alright, alright. I'll get up." He said reluctantly. He got up and stood in front of you, only wearing boxers. Let's just say that you got an instant nosebleed. "Like what you see (y/n)?" He asked teasingly.

You walked out as Kakashi finally got dressed. "Sorry for the wait, sensei. You know how he is when he can sleep." You said while scratching the back of your neck. "Yeah I know." He said while laughing. "So would you like some tea?" You asked him. He nodded as a response. You walked into the kitchen and started boiling the water. When it was almost done boiling, you heard the bedroom door open.

"Hello Kakashi." You heard Minato say. You walked out of the kitchen. "Hello Minato-sensei. You wanted to talk to me?" Kakashi said. You walked towards the table and put the cups with tea down. You then pulled out a chair and sat down, as did Kakashi. "The two of you know about Kushina's pregnancy. The time is almost due so I want the two of you to have a close eye on her during her last two weeks." Minato said seriously. Kakashi and you nodded at the same time. "Yes, Minato-sensei." You said.

After that Minato, Kakashi and you talked for a bit until Minato left. You walked back into the kitchen and finally made breakfast for you and Kakashi. "You want your egg sunny side up, right?" You shouted from the kitchen. "Yes!" He shouted back. You baked it just the way he liked it and then baked one for yourself. You grabbed the two plated of food and set them onto the dining table. Kakashi sat down. "Thank you for the food." He said before he started eating. After the first bite his eyes lit up. "It tastes so good (y/n)!" He almost screames. A bit straddled by his reaction, you jumped up slightly. "Kakashi, it's just an egg with some bread. Please don't be so enthusiastic about it.... you'll look like Guy." You said, a bit embarrassed. "Hehe, sorry (y/n)." He said while rubbing his neck.

~the evening of October ninth~

Kakashi's POV

For the past two weeks, (Y/n) and I have been taking turns watching Kushina. Though in the evening we don't have to because Minato will be there. It is early in the morning and everything's silent and calm, but my gut tells me that something will go wrong today. What would it be?

~time skip~

It was late in the evening. (Y/n) is sleeping right now as I'm walking through the village. I suddenly hear a loud crash. As I turn around I can hear people screaming for their loved ones. And then I saw it. The nine tailed fox. "Fuck." I whispered. I started running back to my house because (y/n) was there, sleeping. As I started getting closer, the smell of fire and ashes started to fill my nose. 'No!' I thought as I ran as fast as I could. I could see red flames, but it wasn't our appartment complex, but the one next to it. I saw a dark shadow helping people out of their apartments, and trying to stop the fire. "Water style: water dragon jutsu!" I shouted and the water from the lake besides the complexes started to tame the fire. The figure eventually jumped down and I finally saw her face. The person I was most worried about. "(Y/n), you're safe!" I screamed happily, but I still concentrated on extinguishing the fire. (Y/n) also started using water style justu to help me stop the fire. When we were done, it hit me. 'Minato sensei, Kushina!' I started running. "(Y/n) we have to go! Now!" She understood and followed me.

As we tried going to the place we knew Minato-sensei and Kushina would go if anything went wrong, we were stopped. "Sorry Kakashi, you and (y/n) aren't allowed to go any further." The shinobi said. "We have to help the hokage!" I heard (y/n) shout at him.  "I'm sorry but these were my orders, so go to training ground 4 right now." He said. So we did what we were told, but as we arrived at the training grounds I felt empty. I looked at (y/n) and I knew, that Minato-sensei, was dead.
