Alice's (Raelyn) POV
Six years ago...
Rage. Fury. Wrath. It was all that danced in front of my vision when I let my eyes wander over my surrounding in search of that asshole. People walking past me eyed me weirdly but I didn't give a damn about what those low lives thought about me.
I searched the entire hallway but no luck favored me. Then I approached the field but seemed like I had to waste every ounce of energy left in me to kill him. Just when I rushed past the boy's locker room, an invisible bulb above my head lit up.
Without thinking twice, I entered it. Some guys were half naked while some were almost naked. I prayed for Zach to be not present in this very room. Averting my gaze from them, I looked over for that familiar face.
And there I spotted him. Grinning from ear to ear to whatever crap his friend was feeding him. At that moment, all I wanted to do was slap that smile off of his face then followed by ripping his head off of his body.
As I marched over to him, whistles and whispers were sent in my direction. Without sparing them a glance, I showed them my middle finger. The moment his freakishly beautiful eyes locked with mine, his lips twitched into a smirk.
Really, Alice? Beautiful eyes, my foot!
"Before you say anything, you're wel-"
The entire locker room fell into a shocking pin drop silence. Though I will regret it later, I did what I had to. I slapped him. Pretty hard. Because he deserved it for pulling that stunt with my best friend Thea.
Strong hateful gazes were burning my head while Ryan turned his head ever so slowly with a dramatic touch and looked down at me. His jaws were clenched while he stood stiff with his broad shoulders in an act of intimidating me. But did I budge? No, instead I just gave him an equal stare of hatred.
"What the hell!" His voice boomed out and I literally jumped out of my skin. My heart pumped rapidly in an attempt of giving myself away to Ryan. In an attempt of giving in to Ryan.
Gulping audibly, I said, "Mind your own business rather than stuffing your nose into someone else's. This time it was just a slap but next time I'll aim where the sun doesn't shine."
"Why are you being a bitch here when all I did was help your fucking best friend, huh?"
"You see it as a help? Because to me it's the dumbest thing one could ever do."
Yeah, he was dumb and unreasonable. Having looks didn't mean one can do as they wish and that was the reason why I created havoc.
I knew Thea didn't deserve that bastard a bit. Luke was her boyfriend for more than a year but he proved that having such a long term relationship doesn't mean that guys won't cheat on their girlfriend. He proved Thea wrong that despite of her pure love, she was never good enough for him. After all he was one of the 'popular kids'.
Thing is, I warned Thea about him numerous times but she didn't believe me irrespective of our eight years of friendship. She even accused me once of trying to steal him from her when all I did was save her from that idiot.
You may be thinking, how this is related with Ryan. Well, he kind of helped her but in a stupidest way one could ever think of. He beat the crap out of Luke and asked him to confront Thea in front of everyone during lunch. She was so humiliated and hurt that she took off and skipped remaining classes.
I didn't have any idea as of to why he was being so considerate about Thea.
"First of all, I did nothing wrong, okay? Second of all, why the hell can't you see that finally Thea is free from Luke? I made her see what you failed to show her. Is that why you're so riled up?" His voice was stern and steady while he crossed his arms across his chest. He looked me in the eye challenging me silently to speak up while I gave him a disbelieving look.
