Chapter 8~ "You people are petty and tiny"

I followed Steve out of the lab and he stops outside of the door.  "Where are we going?" I ask him and he checks to make sure the coast is clear. "Do you have your I.D. badge?" He asks turning to me. "Well yeah, I have to have it at all times." I say. He turns around, "Follow me."   "Okay, are we breaking rules? Or-" he looks at me, "Natasha says your middle name should have been 'trouble' right? And you're not afraid of breaking some rules are you?" He asks. "No."   "Okay, then follow me." We walk down a few hallways, and took a few turns. 

We get to a door that is labeled 'Secure Storage 10-C' , I get my I.D. and try to scan it , but the door wouldn't open. 'Not Valid' the screen read, I tried again, but it still wouldn't work.

"Why isn't it working? It works on every other door here." I say confused, I type in some passwords to see if they worked, 'Not Valid'.  "They have got to be hiding something behind this door." I say.

"Here, step back a little." Steve says, and I step back. He grabs a hold of the door and pushes to the left, and it opened. "Wow." I say and we walk in.

It was dark, besides the little light coming from the emergency lights. We look around, and Steve spots something at the top of the room. "Hang on." He says and grabs me, I hold onto his neck and he jumps to the top grabbing  a bar to pull us up, on the bridge thing. I continue to follow him, to where ever he's going. Through my ear piece, I hear my uncle say, "Charlie where are you?" I look at Steve, and I had to think of a lie, "I'm getting my bandages replaced. Why?" I ask. "Romanoff is going to go talk to Loki. And I thought you'd might want to go with her, since you're good at persuasion. " He says. "Uh, I'm getting my wounds cleaned too, so I can't really go. Natasha will be fine on her own. She's good at what she does." I tell my uncle. "Okay, I got to go." I turn off my ear piece and turn back to Steve, and we continue to look around.

Steve and I walk over to a chest and opened it. Steve looked at me, "Did you know about this?" 

"I don't even know what this is..." I looking in the box.

"It's HYDRA stuff. They're trying to make weapons  by using the cube." He says and stares at the box. We walk out of the room, and Steve grabs one of the weapons out of the box.

"What is Phase two?" We hear my dad ask.

We walk into the lab, Fury was in there and Steve sat the gun on the table. 

"Phase two is S.H.I.E.L.D. Uses the cube to make weapons. Sorry, computer was moving a little to slow for me. " Steve says sounding mad.

Fury looks at me, "How did you even get into that room?"

"Don't worry about it." Steve says.

"Rogers, we gathered everything related to the Tesseract, This doesn't mean we're making-" Before he could finish my dad spoke up really loud. "I'm sorry, Nick. What were you lying?" He says turning the screen, I start looking at the screen. 

"I was wrong, Director. The world hasn't changed a bit." Steve says, Natasha and Thor walk in.

"Charlie, did you know anything about this?" My father asks me.

"No, I didn't. I tried to swipe my card, and it wouldn't let me in that room, if that tells you anything." I say.

"Did you know about this?" Bruce asked, looking at Natasha. 

"You want to think about removing yourself from this environment, Doctor?" She says looking at him.

"I was in Calcutta. I was pretty well removed." Bruce says.
