Chapter 1~ The Tesseract

I woke up to the sound of my phone ringing, and it was currently 1:00 in the morning.
I reluctantly answered my phone, "Hello?" I say as more of a question than a greeting, my voice groggy as ever.

"Sorry to wake you up Charlie." The sound of my uncle's voice making me alert; Phil calling me at this "ungodly hour" was evidence enough that he was about to give me some bad news.

"You're fine. What's up?" I start to sit up, and ran my free fingers through my hair.

"The Tesseract is acting up, and we're not sure what's going on with it. Could you gear up, and come here?" He asked waiting for my response.

"Yeah, I'll be there in about 15 minutes. See you then." I hung up my phone, and got up and combed through my hair and brushed my teeth. I don't care if it's 1 A.M. I am brushing my teeth.

After that I put on a black leather jacket, black leather pants, and boots. I went to my closet and grabbed my bow and some arrows; you can't be too careful. I go outside of mine and Phil's apartment and there's a car waiting for me. I got into the car, and buckled up.

Ten minutes later, I arrived at the facility where the Tesseract was located, and I was greeted by my uncle at the entrance.

"I'm sorry for waking you up, but you know alot more about the Tesseract than any of us." He says as we begin to walk down the long corridors.

"It's fine Uncle Phil. It's my job." I say.

  ~Meanwhile in a different dimension.~

" The Tesseract has awaken. It is on a tiny world. A human world. They will wield it's power, but our ally knows it's working. He is ready to lead us, and our force, our Chitauri, will follow. A world will be his. And the universe yours. Everyone will burn."

~Back to earth~

An evacuation was being issued, and everyone was going to their designated places. Everyone was running around, panicking.

Phil and I were met with Maria Hill, and Director Fury outside.

"How bad is it?" Director Fury asked us, concern lacing his voice.

"That's the problem, sir. We don't know.” My uncle replied, and Fury turned to me, "Agent Coulson? Correct?"

"Yes sir." I replied quickly, standing up straighter than I was, if that was even possible.

"Do you think you could figure out what's going on with that thing?" He asked while we stepped into the elevator.

"Yes, sir. I know a thing or two about the Tesseract." I say as the doors closed.

We got on the level where the Tesseract was located, and started walking that way.

"Dr.Selvig read an energy surge four hours ago." Phil was filling both Fury and I on what was going on.

"It just turned itself on?" Maria asked.

"Where are the energy levels now?" I asked .

"Climbing. When Servig couldn't shut it down he ordered an evacuation." Phil said and we continued to walk.

"How long will it take to clear everyone out?" Fury asked.

"Campus should be cleared in an hour or so."
