Gerard and Frank had just left after they finished talking to Dallon. I quietly walked into his room. Only to find him sound asleep, I smiled to myself. All that talking probably wore him out. So I quietly walked out of the room and sat at my desk. There was really nothing for me to do, so I was playing on my phone. After a couple of hours, my nurse call went off, so I walked down to Dallon's room.
"What's up?" I asked.
"I'm lonely, also I have to go to the bathroom and wanted assistance disconnecting me from the machines so I don't scare you again. Not to mention the fact that I haven't walked in ages so I don't necessarily trust my legs," Dallon replied, laughing awkwardly at the fact he needs help getting to the bathroom.
"That's okay, I wasn't doing anything anyway, you are literally my only patient. Do you want me to walk you to the bathroom?" I asked, the bathroom was just a few feet from his bed, but he probably needed help anyway.
"Yes, please," He answered thankfully.
I properly disconnected him from the machines, so alarms wouldn't go off. He didn't need most of them anymore, they were mostly to keep him healthy while he was in the coma. I helped him sit up and pulled him up, I could feel him shaking on his legs. I kept a tight grip around his waist in case his legs gave out. He was a lot taller than me, but I kept my grip tight around him and held him up the best I could.
"Okay, we're going to start walking to the bathroom, okay? I got you," I warned.
"Okay," Dallon replied breathily.
We took a few wobbly steps, but Dallon made it to the bathroom.
"Do you think you can make it to the toilet? I can help you if you need it, and there are rails in there," I informed. "It's okay, it's nothing I haven't seen, I had to clean you every day."
A blush rushed to Dallon's cheeks, "I, um, I think I probably will need your help."
"That's okay," I replied. "You don't need to be embarrassed."
I walked into the bathroom with him and stood him by the toilet, "Pull down your pants, I will set you down on the toilet."
His face turned bright red, "Okay."
After helping him onto the toilet, I walked out and closed the door, "Tell me when you're done and I will help you out!"
After a few minutes, I hear Dallon say, "Okay, Brendon, I'm ready."
I open the door and Dallon's face is still bright red. I help him stand up and pull up his pants, then I walked him back to his bed.
"That was the most awkward thing to happen in my life," Dallon blushed.
"Well, you better start working to get your legs back into shape, otherwise I'll have to keep helping you, along with the other nurses," I replied, smirking at him.
"Can't I get like a walker for an old person or something?" Dallon whined.
"I can ask Dr. Smith to check around for one if you want. It shouldn't take too long, " I said.
"Really? Thank you!" Dallon exclaimed.
"I'll be right back," I assured him before walking out of the room swiftly. I quickly made it to Spencer's desk.
"Dr. Smith, Dallon wants to know if we have any walkers or something around here, so he can walk himself to the bathroom and such," I informed.
"Yeah, let me have some people check around, we should have one around here somewhere," Spencer answered.
"Okay, I'll go tell him," I replied and walked back to Dallon's room, informing him when I got there.
"So if they find one we won't have situations like that again!" Dallon cheered.
"True, but it has already happened, you can't change that. Not to mention I had to literally wipe your ass while you were in your coma," I added.
Dallon's face when straight back to the bright red, shouting, "BRENDON! Stop embarrassing me!"
"Never!" I exclaimed, smirking at him.
"I guess I can't be friends with you then," Dallon replied, turning his face away from me.
"No! Wait! I will only embarrass you sometimes because I can't promise that I will never embarrass you," I compromised.
"I guess that's a little better," Dallon jokingly sighed.
"That's because I am amazing and you didn't want to break up our amazing friendship," I sassed.
"Well, I don't want to feed your ego, but you are pretty amazing," Dallon admitted.
"Damn right I am," I said confidently, but internally, I was screaming with glee. "You're pretty amazing yourself."
"Aw, thanks, Bren," he replied, blushing cutely.
"Do you need anything else?" I asked pleasantly.
"Just your company," he answered, smiling brightly at me.
We sat there quietly for a few minutes, enjoying each other's company when a question popped into my head.
"Hey, Dal?" I addressed, and he hummed in response. "Is there a reason why Breezy hasn't contacted us back since you've been here? Like, do we have an old number of hers?"
Dallon visibly stiffened at the mention of Breezy's name, "Can we not talk about this today, Bren? Just wait awhile before I talk about it. I just woke up today, I just don't want to talk about it."
"That's fine, we can wait for you to be ready," I replied calmingly.
"Thank you, Bren," He said quietly, the room falling back into silence. "Hey, could you come here for a second?"
"Yeah, of course," I replied, standing up and walking over. "What do you need?"
"A hug," he answered, his voice slightly cracking and I sat down on his bed and hugged him. I heard him lightly sniffling.
"Anything you need, Dal, you just call me, I'll be here for you. Even if I'm not working at the time, I'll give you my number and you can call me," I whispered. "I'm not sure if Pete told you, but I have no life, outside of this place, my life consists of Netflix, eating, and sleeping, that's it. It wouldn't be hard to squeeze you into my schedule."
Dallon choked out a laugh, "I'll remember that, Bren."
