Chapter 24- I love you

Travis's POV

How do I say I love you? Oh Irene, it's our fifth date and I'm nervous as hell. Today's the day that I tell him that I love him, I've planned everything in my head, with the help of the girls and Dante, We've planned the routes we're going to take, I actually fucking written down what I'm going to say on a piece of paper and said it a million times as well. Im hoping we get to the top once the sun starts setting, this better go perfect or I'm going to jump off the cliff thing we're going to. Im not really wearing anything fancy... I mean, it's a hike after all, All that I have on is a new shirt I bought just for this occasion and I avoided jeans, may I say I looked snazzy. I'm a shocked that Zane agreed considering how lazy he is, he was hesitant at first but agreed, I follow the same routines as the last dates and he arrives in my car, he wasn't wearing his mask showing off his beautiful freckled face. It's a beautiful day outside as well, the sky is clear and it's the perfect weather, not to hot, not to cold.

"Wow your actually wearing short sleeves for a change"

"Shut up and start driving you dingus"

"Jeans? really?'

"i threw away all of my work out clothes after moving out, don't Judge"

The place where we are going hiking is about 30 minutes away, I prepared for this scenario as well having some Panic at the disco music playing for the whole car ride. Once we were over there I park at the bottom and we looked up and the trail was surrounded by a bunch of trees and everything was covered in grass but the road.

"I regret agreeing to this"

"Don't be a butt, come on" I grab his hand and we start walking, we inched closer to the top and my heart started pounding. Halfway I spot a beautiful looking flower, there petals were a pastel pink, I decided to pick it when Zane wasn't looking, his focus on a strangely shaped object.

"What the fuck even is this?" He was examining a weird looking rock that was in the shape of a butt, weird I know. I hug Zane from behind and I show him the flower, he hesitantly takes it from my hand a I place a small kiss on his cheek once he does.

"A beautiful flower for a beautiful man"

We continue walking, stopping to point out how some objects look like something inappropriate cause were so mature. Just like I planned we arrive at the top right when the sun was setting, we can see The street and cars zooming past, they all looked like tiny ants. The cool breeze swept some hair into my face which I quickly swept back before it can enter my mouth. I sit down on the grass and I gesture for Zane to sit as well, he put the flower that he received in his hair so he wouldn't loose it or accidentally crush it. We stayed silence for while, letting the sound of crickets and birds flapping there wings and chirping surround us, My heart started beating faster once I remembered why were here, is it to late to back down now? I look over at Zane, his eyes were closed as he took in the cool air. I came a bit closer to him and I grabbed his hand getting his attention. This is it Travis, don't fuck it up like you always do, I gave Zane a smile but soon froze as I filled my head with the worst thoughts I can think of, once I snapped out of that trance I realized I was still staring at him, I opened my mouth to say something but Zane interrupts by connecting our lips together for a single second, He backed away and turned his head refusing to face me. I can tell he regrets doing that, a burst of confidence runs through me, now I know he definitely likes me back so I don't have to worry anymore. That little speech I prepared yesterday went out the window, I don't need it.

Zane's POV

I fucking regretted that instantly, I couldn't even face him, I'm embarrassed. I hear him chuckle, he better not be making fun of me or I'll kill him.

"W-what was that?" He asks still chuckling to himself.

"A k-kiss what did it look like you idiot"

"You call that a kiss?"

He grabs my head and makes me face him, he instantly connects our lips once more, this time it lasted longer... much longer. We stayed glued to each other for about two minutes before separating for air cause were humans. He removed my hair out of my other eye and smiled grabbing my hands and pulling us closer, his forehead on mine and his emerald green eyes looking right at me.

"Zane Ro'meave... I like... I love you"

My heart fluttered as I tried not to scream, I've been wishing for this moment for forever. What do I say? What do I do? What if I don't say anything? I calm myself down and I give him a smile.

"Heh, I love you too" he looked surprised by that answer, his eyes widened as his face goes back to being slightly pink.

"R-really?"

"Yes you twat, why do you think I said it?"

He lunged himself at me knocking us both to the ground, he curled up on my chest and started squeezing me that I felt like everything inside me was being crushed.

"You love me! You actually love me!"

"I can take it back so you better stop fucking trying to kill me!"

"Nope, you can't take those words back!"

I try pushing him off but he won't budge so I just flipped us around so I was on top.

"Let me go, your actually going to kill me!"

After those words he lets me go and I sit on top of him collecting my breath, He sits up as well and swipes a small kiss.

"Zane... w-will you be my b-boyfriend?"

"Of course I will you dummy!" We start having another make out session that was rudely interrupted by another couple that slowly backed away from the scene.

"That's right you punks, fear me!" I shout a little to loud.

"There's no way anyone can be afraid of you, your the least intimidating person I know"

"No I'm not... what about Aphmau?"

"She's scary as hell with her chancla"

"Garroth?"

"He can probably beat anyone's ass, I mean he can break doors"

"Kawaii~Chan?"

"You don't mess with her ships"

"Laurence?"

He pauses for a moment, "okay so your the second least intimidating person I know. Poor Laurence can't even hurt a fly"

"Hmph, I can be intimidating"

"Sure you can"

"Was that sarcasm?"

"Nooo"

"I can break up with you right now if I wanted to and we're not even five minutes in"

"What? Fine I'll stop, don't do it!"

Finally we head down the Mountain and back to civilization, I can't wait to tell Aphmau! The rest of the car ride was... something. We almost crashed... it also may have been my fault. Never kiss the person driving or they'll start swerving on the road and it can potentially kill you. We headed over to my house like the usual and watched a movie together until Dante called Travis back home for a emergency. I call Aphmau over to my house so I can tell her everything.

"Zane you better spill the beans!"

"That's what I'm going to do" minutes after explaining Aphmau screams so the whole neighborhood could probably hear her.

"I'm so happy for you Zane!" She comes over to embrace me, I don't push her away like usual, instead I hug her back. I've never been so happy before, I'm no longer alone cause I'll have Travis with me all the way, I love that piece of shit.
