~Sam~
The doctors all came out of the room and Kayla jumped up. All they did was shake they're head no but that's all it took for Kayla to break down on the floor.
I let her cry for a few minutes on my shoulder till she started to calm down. Ryan was asleep but that's when it hit me.
What happens to Ryan?
I stared at him a little worried.
Does he go to a orphanage? Does he get put in a foster home?
I decided not to worry Kayla about that now, but I know it's gonna be brought up soon.

Kayla and I headed home in silence. We got back to the house and Kayla immediately went up stairs without saying a word.
I sigh walking into the kitchen. There were around 17 target bags scattered around the counter. I just leave them there and go upstairs to Ryan and Kayla.
I lie down wrapping my arms around Kayla when the landline rang. I reached around on my nightstand picking up the phone.
"Is this Samuel Wilkinson?" The women asked.
"Yes. Who is this?"
"This is Lena Kraken from LA child services. Do you have Kayla Tristan with you?"
"Yea."
I looked at Kayla. "It's for you."
~Kayla~
"Ms. Tristan?"
"Just call me Kayla." I said.
"Okay Kayla. We just wanted you to know that you are Ryan Tristan-Lawson's legal guardian."
"Oh yea I almost forgot."
"So we were told that you are living with Samuel Wilkinson."
"Not really living but I'm over here a lot." I say as Sam gives me a weird face.
"Well to be Ryan's guardian you have to live in the house your signed off on." She said and I sighed.
"Okay...but is there anyway I have another person be his guardian too?" I asked crossing my fingers.
Sam looked at me shocked but then it turned into a smile.
"Like who?" She said and I turned it on speaker so Sam could hear too.
"My boyfriend?" I said but I came out as more of a question.
"Well unless you guys are getting married soon unfortunately we can't have you guys both have custody over Ryan."
"What why?" I say shocked
"Because if you guys break up then both of you would have to go to court to fight for custody over Ryan and that doesn't end well sometim-"
"We won't break up." Sam rushed cutting Lena off.
It was silent for a minute.
"I'll see if I can pull a few strings for you guys but you'll have to meet me in my office tomorrow at 1pm." She said.
"Okay thank you." I say hanging up and hugging Sam.
