Bree

"When are you gonna take that ring off?" Jaxson asks looking down at my hand. Crap.

"Now," I smile taking the promise ring Mark gave me off and running into my room and putting it in a box. I run back downstairs and sit next to Jaxson, where I was before.

"I'm thinking of quitting dance," I say quietly.

"No!" Jaxson says pouting.

"Yes!" I laugh.

"No!" He yells. I chuckle.

"I'm kidding." I lie.

"Good." He smiles. I roll my eyes and lay my head on his shoulder. "Speaking of dance. We're going to California in a week." He smiles.

"Good!" I smile laughing.

Jaxson left and I'm on the couch doing my homework. My sisters and my mom are at Anayeli's soccer game and then going straight to Brooklyn's softball game. As I was concentrating on my math homework the doorbell rang. I sigh and get up. I open the door to see Mark standing there.

"What do you want?" I ask in an annoyed tone.

"Can we talk?" He asks looking at me with puffy eyes.

"I don't have anything to say to you," I say and shut the door. He holds the door open with his right hand.

"Please," He says pushing the door open. I sigh and let him in. I walk into my room with Mark right behind me.

"What?" I ask sitting on my bed.

"I don't want to lose you... You know.. as a friend." He says looking at me.

"Should've thought of that when you shattered my heart." I groan.

"I obviously didn't break it that hard since you went running straight to Jaxson." He groans.

"Yeah well I had to distract myself from doing stuff I'd regret somehow." I groan. He just groans.

"Can we just be friends. Please?" He asks.

"Why?"

"Because I want to be friends!" He practically yells.

"GO BE FRIENDS WITH SIERRA BECAUSE SHE MEANS SO MUCH TO YOU!" I yell running out of my room and into a different one which ends up being the gymnastics room.

"BREE!" Mark yells following me. I run to the foam pit and jump in to hide. I don't know I'm childish.

"BREE!" He yells running over to the foam pit and jumping in. I groan and struggle to get out. Mark grabs my hand and pulls me back in.

"Breeland Montoya." He says looking at me.

"What?" I ask groaning.

"I just want to be friends with you. I want to go back to before we dated." He says.

"We can't do that." I groan.

"Why not?!" He yells.

"Because back then I liked you. But now... Now I hate your guts." I say getting out and running into another room. I don't hear anything else other than the front door slamming. Then I hear it open and Jaxson calling my name.

"In here," I yell getting up off the floor.

"Hey. Your mom asked me to come for dinner." He smiles.

"She's not even home yet." I laugh.

"I know. She texted me." He smiles.

"Okay cool." I smile. He hugs me.

"I saw Mark." He sighs.

"He wanted to be friends." I groan.

"What an idiot." Jaxson laughs. I take his hand and drag him into the dance room.

"Can we practice our dance?" I ask smiling. He nods and smiles. He takes my hand and we start dancing. Time flies with him. It's amazing.
