Summer's POV

"Breeland?" My eyes widen as my brain connects the voice with memories. "Mark, I think I'm going insane," I say looking at him, but not turning around to see the man in the doorway. "Breeland look at me," The man pleads. "It's Summer," I say turning around to face the one man I never thought I'd see again. My father. "How did you know about that?" He asks. "I'm not stupid." My voice is harsh and feels forced as I talk to him. "Are you ok?" He whispers as tears fill his eyes. "Like you would care," I groan. "I do care." His voice raises. "IF YOU CARED YOU WOULDN'T PUT ME THROUGH THE PAIN OF GOING FROM FOSTER HOME TO FOSTER HOME!" I yell. Mark's eyes widen as he connects the dots. "I did what was best for you," My father groans. "NO! You did everything you could to get rid of me," I spit. "You can't honestly think that," He says taking a step towards me. "Go back to Megan and your children. Because as far as I'm concerned, the two boys that live with you are your children. Not me." Mark stays silent as he stands next to me, but he reaches for my hand and intertwines our fingers. "You will always be my child. You can change foster homes. But you can not change what you are made of. You are my child." "I'm more Quin's child than yours," My voice cracks as tears fill my eyes. "I'm making a phone call to foster care. You're getting placed in a different home. I don't like who you've become," He tells me. "YOU CAN'T DO THAT!" I yell. "Watch me," He spits before storming out of the room. "He can't do that!" I look up to Mark as tears pour out of my eyes. "Do what?" He asks. "He's going to make me more. Move families, move to a different state." Mark looks down at me with sad eyes. "No. He can't do that. I can't lose you," He whispers, wrapping his arms around me and holding me close. "He can," I choke on my words. He'll do anything and everything to ruin my life.
