Mark hands me a box. I look at him weird.
"Open it." He smiles. I open it to see a ring.
"Kill me." Sierra mumbles. I roll my eyes and focus on Mark.
"With this ring I promise to be faithful. I promise to always be there for you. I promise to always be your friend. I promise to always support you. And I promise to always love you. I promise." He smiles sliding the ring onto my left hand's ring finger. I smile and peck his lips.
"Promise ring? Really? That's dumb. You will break up by the end of the year anyway." Sierra snickers walking past. I look at Mark in disappointment.
"We'll prove her wrong." He smiles grabbing my hand and pulling me inside. I laugh as we run to class.
"Mr. Thomas, Ms. Montoya you're late."
"We were having a moment." I smile showing her the ring.
"Pretty." She smiles letting our tardiness slide. We sit down with a laugh. After a while Sierra walks in.
"Sierra. You're late, detention." She says handing Sierra a piece of paper. Sierra groans and sit down making me snicker. She looks over at me with a death stare which makes Mark laugh. I look at him with an annoyed look. His smile turns into a straight face and he starts paying attention to what the teacher was doing. After class ends Mrs. DeYoung pulls me aside.
"Let me see the ring." She smiles. I show her.
"What was the promise?" She asks with a huge smile.
"I don't know. There was so many I kind of forgot." I laugh before remembering I had a letter he gave me. I pull it out and read from it.
"He promises to be faithful, to always be there for me, to always be my friend, to always support me and to always love me." I smile.
"Awwwww!" She gushes. I laugh and she pulls me into a hug. The bell rings and I sigh.
"Here's a pass. Say you were asking about absences." She smiles. I thank her and run to my next class.
"Miss. Montoya you're late." Mr. Ricko says. I smile and hand him the yellow slip. He nods and lets me in. I sit in my chair and he shuts the door.
*Skips to lunch*
"Bree you're back!!" Kristiana smiles running over to hug me."Yep." I smile side hugging her. Mark walks over to our table with his tray of food and sits to my right.
"Hey babe." I smile kissing his cheek. He blushes and smiles. I roll my eyes at how adorable he is and continue talking to Kristiana.
"Coach Riley actually looked sad because you missed practice." Kristiana laughs.
"She loves me." I laugh.
"Can't blame her. You're adorable." Mark says cutting into our conversation. I laugh and peck his lips.
"Aren't you two just the cutest?" She laughs.
"No. They aren't! It's disgusting. Mark belongs with me!" Sierra cries from the table across from us.
"What is her problem?" Kristiana asks.
"With that girl, I have no idea," I mumble making Kristiana laugh.
