Chance's POV

    "Chance!" the fan's shrieked.

Heading to the gym isn't a simple task anymore. Stepping outside the house a few girls lined the street. It was pretty moderate today. I said a quick hello, took some pictures, then got in the car to go meet Anthony.

My life now, isn't a normal one for a 20 year old. But I wouldn't have it any other way. This is what got me out of Ohio. Youtube, Vine, and now Team10. It all started after I met Anthony, working in a restaurant.

The rest is sort of history.

L.A was this dream, and now it's my reality. Creating dope content with my closest friends, what more could I ask for? Life isn't so black and white any more. Between the live shows and the collabs. This is exactly what I wanted.

"Hey man," Anthony said, as I got to the gym. "How you doin' today?"

"Good, what am I gonna do? Be sad for the rest of my life?" I asked.

He agreed.

Tessa, one of the other members of team10, and I were dating. And now we aren't. It's easy as that. The thing is, neither of us are terribly heartbroken. I love her and everything, but not in the romantic way everyone thought.

She's my friend, and I am hers. We couldn't string this thing along for the fans knowing how much it hurt us not being with someone we truly were in love with. To be honest, I haven't felt that in a long time.

"Hey guys!" Erika grinned, stepping over by the barbell. "Where's Tess?"

"I think she's on her way here," Anthony mentioned.

"Cool, see ya laters." She said, walking over to the elliptical.

Jake and Erika are practically inseparable at this point. They're releasing songs, merchandise, and overall just in love with each other. It's good to see him like that, even with all the drama that's been going on.

I'm jealous of them, straight up, I want that more than anything. It's something I didn't have with Tessa, or anyone I've dated in the past. But I know it's gonna be hard for love to just walk into my life like that.

"Earth to Chance," Jake said.

I swear I didn't notice him getting here. "Oh, hey. What's up?"

"You just kinda dazed off dude," he chuckled before returning to his barbell.

"Ah, sorry."

"You sure you're good dude?" Anthony asked.

"I'm fine, I swear," I promised.

And there was Tessa, walking over to Erika. They were screeching about something or another. For the first time in a long time, in this room, I feel a little out of place. I love everything about my life, things just seem a little hopeless right now. Like I'm missing something.

Maybe real love is what I want right now.

"Oh my god! She never comes to LA!" Erika cried out.

"It's like she hates the entire state of California!" Tessa sighed.

"Who?" I asked, curious.

"Lizzie Gold! She's our favorite author!" She exclaimed. "See! She wrote that book 'If I Fall,' that I love so much. She's doing another book tour, but only going down the east coast."

That name, I knew it. But why?

Why did it ring in my head so much?

"No way! I just read on twitter, from her roommate Dylan, that they are moving to LA! This is not a drill!" Erika went on.

"No way! Do you think we'll run into them?" Tessa asked.

I stopped listening to their rambling, they get crazy when they go on like that. Went back to working out, finally putting in my headphones to try and drown out everything around me. Maybe it'll help.

After working out, I head back to the house. Filming a video with Anthony, doing a quick Q and A. That'll all I had planned for the day. It's kinda a rare occasion at the team10 house. Where we aren't buzzing around doing a million and one things.

"Hey Ma," I spoke into the phone.

She called, it's like clockwork with her, every night around 6. "Hey hun, how're you doing? How was your day?"

"Kinda short."

"Anthony texted me, told me you're sad. Is it about Tessa?" She asked.

"Not really. I don't know what it is these days."

"I miss you kid, I wish I could help. I truly do."

"Maybe I should come visit." I sighed. It's been a long time since I've actually been to Ohio, maybe seeing my family is what I need to get out of this weird funk.

"Yes! You're grandma would love that so much, too. We all need to see ya Chance." She spoke.

"Let me look at my schedule, I can probably come in a week or two."

"Ok doll, whenever you can is good with us!" I could almost hear her excitement through the phone.

After getting off the phone with her. I went down to the kitchen to see if anyone ordered something, or someone was cooking. Luckily Jake ordered pizza for everyone. I found Anthony editing on the couch.

"Hey man, I'm going back to Ohio to visit in a week or two. Wanna come with?" I asked.

He shook his head, "nah. My Mom's coming out at the end of the month. Looks like it's a solo trip dude."

"It's cool."

"Ok but maybe she'll do a meet up once she get's here," Erika was going on.

"Wait isn't doesn't Tyla sorta know Dylan?" Tessa questioned.

"Not really, they met at a party once." Erika groaned, "we'll meet her I promise."

"LA is a huge city dude. Wait- Jake! You know that Dylan guy I watch? Could you tweet him asking him to collab? Please baby!" Erika begged. "Tessa and I are obsessed with him and his author friend Lizzie."

"Of course gorgeous." He said. "That's the gay one? Or the one that's a DJ?"

"The gay one. Thank you so much." She grinned.

"Ya know, Lizzie Gold is originally from a small town near Cleveland. Surprised you boy's don't know her."

"I thought she was from Michigan?" Erika frowned, seeing as that's where she's from.

"Nah, she said in a Vlog that it's Ohio, idk where though. Remember the one where she was taking a break because it was her Mom's birthday? And how it's hard because her Mom passed away three years ago." Tessa explained.

And that's when it clicked.

I pulled up the Instagram app on my phone. And typed in 'Lizzie Gold,' there she was. She matured a lot, she's beautiful in another way now. I would have barely recognized her if it wasn't for her big blue eyes. She made me who I was in one night.

My Beth, I used to think she was the love of my life. Until I lost her.
