The house reeked of cheap booze, and stale marijuana. I don't know why my best friend, Allison, thought it would be a good idea to come. We barely know anyone here. There's a few people from our classes, but it's mainly upperclassman. I've only seen a few sophomore's like myself.

"How did you even get invited?" I asked Allison, as she handed me a red cup full of shitty beer.

"Some guy in my gym class told me I should come, and bring a friend." She shrugged.

It makes sense, she's the epitome of gorgeous. Last year when we got into High School, the Senior guys were falling at her feet. Me, on the other hand, would never get invited to a party like this. Guy's avoid me like the plague. It's because I'm not skinny like Allison, she likes to say that I'm curvy.

But I'm a few pounds over curvy.

"Hey sweetie wanna dance?" Somebody asked Allison. He was tall, handsome, and most likely of the Jock variety.

"Sure!" She squealed.

And now I'm alone. That was quick, I wandered around the seemingly big house. I didn't fit in clearly. All the girls here were dressed in short skirts, and crop tops. It's November in the Midwest so they weren't the wisest outfit choices. I on the other hand, choose a long sweater and leggings.

"Who are you?" A guy asked me. I think his name was Luther, his younger brother is in my English class. "Why did a fucking geek get invited!?"

"My friend did, not me."

"And she thought to bring you? Only hot girls get to be here, you're a fat-" He started to say, but was cut off by my drink going directly into his face.

I didn't need him to finish, I ran off. Fuck this. I can't leave, because Allison is my ride. Going upstairs and at the end of the longest hallway was a bathroom. I'm shocked nobody was in there making out or anything.

Once the door is shut, I take slow breaths in attempt not to cry. If I think about what Luther was going to finish saying, then I will for sure. "You have a beautiful soul inside and out Beth, it will take you wherever you need to go in life." Remembering my Mom's last words to me help. Yet, even that brings me back to that horrible day.

"Just breathe." I coached myself. Eventually I calmed down after what seemed like hours but was only minutes. I sat on the edge of the bathtub scrolling through my phone. Which seemed useless considering where this party was being held, the middle of fucking nowhere.

"Fuck!" I heard as a guy stormed into the bathroom, slamming the door forcefully behind him. "Shit-sorry I didn't realize anyone was in here."

He was clearly in distress, fists balled at his sides and anger fuming through his entire body. "Are you okay?" I asked.

"Fine.." he mumbled, turning around to leave. "As if this night can't get any fucking worse."

"Huh?"

"We're locked in here," he said pointing at the door.

He must of slammed it so hard that the lock or something came out. We both tried yelling, pounding on the wall to try, and get somebody's attention. It didn't work. Pulling out his phone, he uttered a curse work realizing there isn't exactly service in here.

"What do we do?" I questioned.

"Wait it out I guess, Luther will realize eventually that I'm gone."

There was that name I hated so much. "Okay," was all that came out of my mouth as I sat back on the edge of the tub. We sat in silence, he looked like he was counting tiles and I was fumbling with the bottom of my sweater.
