Chapter 8

Sitting around the clock everyone was watching the clock. Jack had been up most of the morning, but everyone wasn't moving around the house until ten o' clock. Jack was sure that Tiberius convinced them all to stay in their rooms until then. When everyone came around though some were looking at Jack more curiously then the night before, a few were even sizing him up as if he could be a potential threat.

Gabby had awoken with Jack early and helped make a small scale breakfast that everyone could enjoy, Brody had done the same as to make sure he could stay as close to his brother as possible. Gabriela and Brody had been the only ones to wish him a happy Birthday thus far. Of course Brody was no longer even present, Tiberius sent him over to James's place the moment he had made it to the kitchen.

At 10:15 the door was knocking and the first two guests arrived that his Godfather had warned him of, “Ah Jack Wilder, it is good to be seeing you again.”

Jack's jaw dropped at the site of his best friends father, “Mr. Creed, what are you doing here?”

Maverick Ichabod Creed and all his glory stood in front of the oldest Wilder. Hundreds of people Jack might have suspected to show up to this little meeting and the father of his best friend was not one of them. Maverick stood rather tall at about six foot two with two different shades of brown eyes. The man was always a little intimidating, but in that fancy suit standing above Jack he felt a little smaller, “I am here to celebrate your birthday, Julian was unable to attend due to his Birthday not being until the following Sunday, but he will hopefully be joining the MUT at about the same time as you.”

Jack looked at Mr. Creed curiously, “The MUT sir?”

Maverick gave Jack a brilliant smile, “Sorry son I can't say much more, its good to see you though, particularly because a lot of my actions will be explained, it is my hope you will think better of me as a parent once this is all over. While we are still in the door way allow me to introduce my associate Jeremiah Alvin Bushlanger, he is going to be your economic adviser from here on out. He is a trusted friend and colleague of both myself and your parents.”

Jack extended his hand to Jeremiah introducing himself, “Jack Arcturus Wilder, its a pleasure to meet you Mr. Bushlanger. Though I hope someone will explain to me later today why on Earth I will need an 'Economic Adviser'.”

Mr. Bushlanger grasped his hand tightly, “Please my friends call me Alvin, and we will hopefully very soon get to why I am here. My I haven't seen you since you were six or seven, your brother was just born the last time I saw you. I personally set up your parents' trust fund and Will for both you and the youngest Wilder, Brody right?”

Jack nodded his head welcoming the two guests into his home. There were sudden shouts of joy coming from Tiberius and his other guests as they greeted the two newest arrivals. Jack checked the clock at 10:25, when Gabriela came up and snaked her hand into his, “Its going to hurt, but I promise you will survive. For us I am going to ask you not kill anyone once its over. You will see what I mean in the next to fifteen minutes.”

Jack didn't argue and just shook his head in agreement and total confusion. Tiberius kept checking his watch and growling, “Leave it to the old man to make a dramatic last second entrance.”

Jack looked around and everyone was suddenly looking a bit nervous. Samuel made his way over to Jack given a quick few words, “Listen, whatever happens next I will not judge you by. You have every right to be angry. Ever since I became eighteen I have been fighting to inform you after your parents died. What your family has done nothing short of disgust me. I would bash your family's name if half of them weren't in the ground...Forgive me, you will soon understand my wrath. It was very difficult reintroducing myself to you last night. I shouldn't be saying this much, but it in a matter of minutes it won't matter. I tried to find you myself, but never could. I hope you will forgive me when the time comes.”
