Chapter 14

“Wait a second Brody, slow down, what happened?” Jack asked his clearly on edge little brother.

Brody was practically screaming at him through the phone, “Now is not the time to question me you idiot! Get some help and get to Julian's it seems like it’s only three to five attackers, but the house is under siege.”

Jack turned to Samuel who could clearly hear his distressed little brother.  Samuel nodded at Jack clearly ready for a fight, “My armor is at the house, we don't have time to go back and change.  We will have to make do with what we have.  The girls have already left, so we will have to make do, with the two of us.”

Patrick immediately protested, “You said I needed a chance to prove myself, the Creeds are important allies to the house of Lionheart, I would be honored to fight along side the Wilder and Sparrow clan.  Give me a chance.”

Jack and Samuel exchanged looks when the agreement was made, “We could be outnumbered at least two to one, are you sure you want to risk yourself like this? We don't know what we could be walking into or how long it will take to mobilize reinforcements.”

The last remaining Lionheart nodded his head, “Bravery has run through the walls of this very room by my family. I will give honor to my legacy by fighting beside you two Lords today.”

Jack gratefully accepted his words, “I am really glad to heard that, we will gladly take any help we can get.”

Patrick stepped forward throwing his hands in an intricate pattern in order to summon a portal, Samuel looked a little surprised, “I didn’t even know portals could be summoned in a government building?”

The portal whirled around the room causing papers on the desk to fly around, the government had already left the courtroom.  Jack could see through the colors to the clear destination of the Creed home in Lumine county Kentucky.   Patrick grunted, “Desperate times call for desperate measures.  They can write me the cheap and meaningless citation later; we have to get to the Creed’s now.”

Jack nodded in agreement, “Let’s move, and try not to get separated.  Come on move, move, move!”

The second they crossed through the boys dived behind a fence in order to remain unseen.  Jack was amazed that the portal hadn't caused a ruckus, but Jack then remembered Tatiana said it was all about the caster, so it made sense that Patrick was able to cast a portal with near silence. Samuel in a barely audible tone said, “Jack call Maghteana, your mental connection.  She will be able to find us, her magic is powerful, we are going to need some help.”

“I just hit our locator, the USDA will be with us, but it could take several minutes. They won't send forces until they have an entire unit available to dispatch.” Patrick whispered.

The house in front of them was being blasted from the outside by dark creatures.  The magical walls were being held in the front, but by the looks of things the back barriers were already down. The attackers were Necromancers, but one in particular stood out to Jack, the tallest creature, it looked somewhat…familiar. None the less, Jack knew these things were actually people, corrupted by their magic.  As Tatiana explained, the dark magic takes over your physical appearance, it turns your face into a dark monster, your body warps and changes until the magic literally radiates off of you, as if it was a part of their body.  The creatures are of the darkest entities, and according to Gabriela they walk amongst us, as they are capable shape shifters.

Patrick shook his head, “There are too many of them, three in the front at least that in the back, and we don’t know if there are any already inside.”
