Chapter 11

After short reassurance to Jack's friends they hastily approached the catacombs. Maghteana eyed them all suspiciously and closely as they approached the cave, but he made no move of violence. Gabriela was actually rather enamored by the creature, “May I touch him?”

The first question Jack asked was, “How do you know its a boy?”

Maghteana clearly understood the question and wondered the same, “A woman’s intuition, this majestic creature could only be a boy, a mother would have been much more overbearing. While this father is only prepared to strike if it must.”

Jack instantly recalled the dragon speaking in his mind, “She has a point hatchling.”

It was also explained why Maghteana called Jack hatchling, apparently that is what she called all of her descendants, since they came from eggs.

The route into the catacombs didn't take long to cross throughbefore they came to a large door that blocked the entire cave, no windows, no peep holes, just massive titanium doors. On these Titanium doors two emblems were clearly adherent. Both were in the shape of a shield, Jack immediately placed his hand on it in awe of the beautiful art. While the group began chattering as Jack observed the massive walls Maghteana explained, “The first symbol on your left is the mark of the Pendragon's. The mark on the right is the family crest of the Wilder's.”

Jack looked at the family crest of Pendragon first. It was simple, three crowns to represent the three strongest kings of Camelot, Constantine II, Uther, and Arthur Pendragon. The crest was red, but other than it was oddly plain, one would think the family of Camelot would have something more sophisticated. Like the Wilder's crest. It was pearl white with a griffin on the front that was clearly Maghteana, with it were six stars that brazened the top of the shield. Then in dark black inc at the bottom the words, Quod Lux Valet. Jack didn't understand the Latin language, but he clearly murmured the words his father had told him many times, “The Light Prevails.”

Everyone was now silently watching Jack. He put a hand on both doors as everyone eyed him carefully. He put his head on the doors a little bit, taking a deep breath, then pushing them open. It was a site to behold, the room before him now was massive. It could have easily fit his large high school cafeteria in here, and probably a couple of classrooms to boot. The room was decorated with many other family crest that clearly were not his own. Swords, spears, maces, and weapons of all kinds were spread across the room neatly and very organized on different racks. Different types of armors and cloaks were displayed on manicans, books were ceiling high on completed bookshelves. Family portraits of individuals and families were placed strategically across the room as well, a long with a massive family tree on the far end. Keys and various clothes were a lined together, having a bit of it all, tuxes, dresses, sweaters, ties, suits, skirts, shoes, underwear, this was more then just a vault this was a sanctuary.

In his stupor no one moved forward to obstruct Jack's view, “Is this all mine?”

Tiberius smiled lightly placing a hand on his Godsons shoulder in comfort, “Your family left you quite a legacy to carry on. Yes, everything in this room belongs to you and your little brother.”

Jack looked back at his surrogate uncle, “I would trade it all to have them back you know. Brody and I don't need all of this.”

Tiberius was about to say something, but clearly decided against it. Jack caught it, but right now he didn't want to question it. He reached out for Gabriela's hand and slowly he took her by his side into the catacombs, he called out behind him, “Please feel free to look around, don't take anything without asking though, I am sure if everyone wants a few things I have plenty to spare.”
