Caroline found herself sitting by a tree in the woods, thinking about what the hell just happened.

She felt bad for Rebekah and she cursed herself for it. She didn't want to feel bad for her, but she did just throw the news in her face. Rebekah did care for Stefan....If you once loved somebody, that feeling never really goes away...

"Are you okay?" Klaus asked sitting beside her. Klaus didn't have much trouble finding her.

"You should be asking Rebekah that." she said, leaving a confused Klaus.

"What do you mean?"

"Ask her if she's okay."

"But..After she treated you that way.." he frowned.

"I still feel bad for her." she said meeting his eyes.

"You know" he began putting a strand of her blond hair behind her ear "I truly admire that about you...Your compassion, you show it even for people who treat you badly. It's hard to find someone like that."

"Thank you." she said almost in a whisper, she was getting lost in his eyes "but I don't blame her, the way she acted towards me was completely normal. What she said was true...I did rejec-"

"Caroline, we already talked about this. It's fine" he cut her off sending her a comforting smile.

"I don't think that it is a really good idea for me to stay here."

"Nonsense love! Don't worry about it. My sister will change her mind soon. Okay? Please don't go..." he said taking her hand in his. His voice cracked at the end of his sentence. The despair was clear to see in his eyes.

"I won't." she squeezed his hand.

Caroline loved how vulnerable he was around her. He completely opened up when he was with her, something he didn't do with others. he could made her feel something that nobody else was able to make her feel...He was able to make her feel special. Because even if a hundred years had passed, he still felt the same way about her.

She locked her eyes with his. It didn't feel weird for her to just look at him without saying a word, it almost felt..refreshing. It felt nice to be around him. There were no words needed, they understood each other with one look.

"What are you thinking about." he whispered so quiet, scared that if he talked too loud he would ruin the moment.

"About this..about you." she whispered back, even more quiet.

"And how does 'this' make you feel?" the tone of his voice revealed how curious he was and how much hope he had at that moment.

She knew the exact word to describe how she felt and she wasn't going to hold back from telling him.

"It makes me feel" she waited a moment, pretending to think "special"

"Caroline, here you are! I've been looking for you. Can we talk?" Rebekah barged in, bringing her back to reality.

Klaus gave his sister an angry look to show her that she had clearly interrupted something.

"Um yeah sure.." Caroline replied.

She stood up and followed Rebekah to a place were they could talk alone, but not before sending Klaus a smile.

Who knows what could have happened if Rebekah hadn't interrupted them. She couldn't help but think about it and smile.

"I'm sorry if I interrupted your moment" she rolled her eyes at the thought of it "not really, but I am sorry for how I behaved earlier...I'm a bit protective when it comes to family. I shouldn't have questioned your intentions. I had no idea about Stefan.." it looked as if she struggled saying his name.

"It's fine Rebekah, I accept your apology."

"Good, but" she pointed her finger towards Caroline "I will still keep an eye on you."

"Now let's go back" Rebekah smiled "you still have a room to pick."
