Caroline awoke to soft sheets and the morning light trickled through the blinds. She stretched her arms above her head and yawned. She opened her eyes again and noticed that Klaus wasn't laying beside her anymore. At first she was just confused, but she started to panic quickly. "Klaus?" she called out. 

"KLAUS?" she yelled when she received no answer. 

He was by her side in a split second. "What's the matter love?" he asked worried.

She sighed in relief "nothing...I just thought that you left for a second.." 

"Caroline..." he began taking a seat on the bed "I promised you yesterday that I wouldn't leave..and I intend on keeping that promise."

She gave him a small smile.

"I just went downstairs because I didn't want to wake you" he smiled "why don't you get ready first, I'll wait downstairs."

"Okay." she said getting out of her bed.

"You look beautiful love." he said smiling.

"Thank you" his compliment did more to her than she was willing to admit... 

"So what are we doing today?" she asked.

"Yes...Um..I actually wanted to ask you something Caroline..." he said.

"You seem nervous...What's wrong?" she asked.

"Because I don't know what your answer will be..."

"I might surprise you....Now tell me what it is. You're making me nervous!" she giggled.

"Well" he came closer to her "I wanted to ask you if..." he looked straight in her eyes.

"If?" she tilted her head.

"If you would like to come with me to New Orleans..." 

All he saw in her eyes was surprise. 

She knew that if she would say no, that he would still stay with her because of the promise he made her. So actually it really didn't matter for her what she said, but for him it did...She wanted to see that smile of him.

"yes" she said confidently, smiling.

"Really?" he said like her answer was a total surprise. 

"Yes" she laughed "but one thing...What will your siblings think of it?"

"They will be fine with it." he assured her. 

"Okay!" she clapped her hands "I'll start packing then, I guess." 

Klaus couldn't believe what was happening, he made her this offer a century ago and now...she had finally agreed. It wasn't in the way he dreamed of, but he convinced himself that the most important thing was that it was finally happening. 

Before Caroline had woken up, Klaus had called a witch to find out the whereabouts of Katherine. He knew what Caroline had said, but he also knew that she needed Katherine.

"I'm ready to go." Caroline stated holding her suitcase. 

"Perfect" he smiled.

And just like that they drove of to New Orleans, but what Caroline didn't know yet... is that there was a quick stop first...

Caroline was confused as to why they couldn't just take a plane...It would take so much longer with a car. But she decided not to question it. 

"Do your siblings know it yet? That I will be coming along with you?" 

"No, it will be a surprise to them...But I'm sure they will take it a good way." he assured her.

"Yeah...I don't think so, but we'll see..." she sighed.

"Yeah..You'll see! You'll become besties with Rebekah, you will tell all your secrets to Elijah" he laughed "Koll will give you shopping advice" they both laughed.

"Hey hey...stop there please" she laughed.

"And what about you?" she asked giving him a daring look "what will you be to me?"

"Whatever you want love." he looked at her for a while before returning his gaze to the road. "

I'll be to you whatever you want me to be..." he repeated in a whisper.
