Unfortunate Reunion ~ Klaroline (ON HOLD)

An understanding

"Thank you Care, I love you so much and I will never leave you again." Katherine said smiling.

"I love you too Kat!" she said hugging Katherine.

"How dare you?" Klaus yelled angrily walking inside the room.

"Klaus...it's fine, she made a mistake...But so does everyone!" Caroline argued.

"Caroline, love..Out the room." he said not even looking at Caroline.

"No! What the hell is wrong with you?"

"NOW!" he yelled.

"Care, it's fine..." Katherine reassured her.

Caroline gave Klaus an annoyed look and angrily left the room.

Once she had closed the door Klaus began to talk.

"How dare you come into my home after everything you've said." he said looking at her with hatred.

"I'm sorry, God you have no idea how sorry I am!" she cried "I don't even know why I said it, but if I could take it all back I would! Believe me.."

"Oh stop, I know how this goes with you! You manipulate, you lie..just to get what you want. I won't let you hurt Caroline again." 

"Come on Klaus! Do you really think I want to hurt Caroline? I've been by her side for a century! She is like family to me! How dare you question my intentions?" she shouted.

"Do you even hear yourself? You're saying how you would never hurt Caroline, but you just hurt her.."

"Yes you're right... but I also said that I've been by her side for a whole century. If you spend that much time with someone, it hurts to lose them.." she sadly whispered the last part.

"You're not talking about Caroline anymore are you?" he slowly asked.

She took a deep breath, trying to control her emotions. "I-um I couldn't handle losing Stefan and because of that I started pushing Caroline away. I'm guessing that's why I said what I said.."

"Then why did you come back?" he asked.

"I realized that I was losing Caroline too and that would make everything worse. I also realized that it wasn't only about me. Maybe Caroline needed me to get through this and what kind of a friend would I be if I just left...I know, I am a horrible person" she sighed.

Meanwhile Caroline was standing at the door, trying to listen to their conversation. But she couldn't hear a thing..

"You can stop trying darling.." Kol appeared.

"Why?" she turned around, raising her eyebrows at him.

"The room is spelled." he cleared up.

"My room is spelled..Why?" she said emphasizing the word 'my'.

"This room belonged to someone else a long time ago and that person placed a spell on it. We never thought about removing the spell." he shrugged his shoulders.

She sighed "I want to know what they are saying..If your brother is trying to kill my best friend I would like to know that."

"Don't worry, he would never do that to you." he assured her.

"Yeah..you're probably right." she gave him a small smile.

"Just out of curiosity...How do you feel about my brother? I mean we all know how he feels about you." he tilted his head.

"He's my friend."

"Oh come on Caroline" he blurted out "for how long are you going to keep doing this? I see the way you look at him, the way you act around him..It's obvious!"

"Stop Kol, you can't force the words out of me." she said walking away from him.

"You're making something that could be oh so easy oh so hard." he sang the words.

Caroline didn't bother turning around since she didn't know what to say. Could Kol be right? Was she being completely oblivious to the fact that she liked Klaus. She went downstairs to the living room.

She kept thinking about Kol's words, wether he could be right or not...

She was so lost in though, sitting on the couch, that she didn't even realize Klaus sitting beside her.

"Caroline?" he repeated for the fifth time.

"Um yes?" she said in barely a whisper.

"I'm sorry for the way I acted, I just wanted to talk to your friend and as you could see I was rather mad." he explained.

"Yeah, it's fine..But you need to understand that everyone makes mistakes! Even you, even I make mistakes! So you can't hurt her or send her away..Please."

"Love, calm down.." he chuckled "We talked and surprisingly I understand her.."

"Really?" she couldn't believe the words coming out of his mouth.

"So what had you so lost in thought earlier?" he asked.

"I um" she laughed nervously "it's stupid..."
