Unfortunate Reunion ~ Klaroline (ON HOLD)

An unexpected guest

"Love, dinner is ready...Are you coming?" Klaus asked entering Caroline's room.

"Ow.." she looked at her watch "do I need to change fast?" she quickly opened her still unpacked suitcase and started looking for a nice dress.

"No need to change love" he chuckled "this is your home now...no one else dresses up."

"And..you look stunning anyways.." he added, reaching out his arm for her to take.

"Really?" she raised her eyebrows "is this really my home now?" She asked with hope in her eyes.

"Of course.." he whispered.

Caroline smiled lightly, glad to be accepted and loved like this before taking his arm.

Elijah, Rebekah and Kol were already waiting at the table for their brother.

Elijah had already told Kol that Klaus had brought a guest, Kol was rather surprised when he heard the name Caroline. He knew that his brother cared for her, but he always thought that the young vampire didn't want to have anything to do with his brother.

When Klaus appeared with Caroline, Kol stood up from his chair. He slowly walked towards her "hello darling" he said kissing her hand.

"Kol.." Klaus warned him. Klaus knew that Kol wouldn't try anything, but he still didn't like the thought of anyone else touching her..even though she wasn't even his.

"What?" he backed away from her "I am simply making sure that she feels welcome." he said smirking.

"Let's eat.." Elijah suggested, preventing a possible fight.

"So Caroline, what did you do all this time? We have a whole century to catch up." Elijah laughed.

"I uhm.. You know that I had the school with Alaric.." Elijah nodded "I loved helping kids with their magic! It was amazing to help them, but then Alaric passed away. Luckily Stefan and Katherine ended up helping me with the school." 

"Katerina?" Elijah sighed.

"Yes..So you know..Thanks to them I didn't close the school. But after a while we did end up closing it, because Lizzie and Josie left. after that I traveled the world with Stefan and Katherine." she took a deep breath "And then Stefan died.."

"I am sorry for your loss Caroline." Elijah said.

"Ugh, the weather is so bad..I hate the rain!" Caroline stated, trying to change the sad subject. The last thing she wanted was for people to feel bad for her.

Klaus felt her discomfort and grabbed her hand under the table, squeezing it lightly.

All of the sudden the doorbell rang "I'll take it." Elijah said fixing his tie as he stood up.

His eyes widened when he had opened the door. The person in front of him was completely drenched by the rain, he thought he would never see her again.

"Katerina?" he said in a questionably manner, like he couldn't believe it it.

"Hello Elijah.." she looked sad and that was easy to tell.

"Have you been crying? Come inside, you can get warmed up."

"Elijah, I made a huge mistake..I-I need to talk to Caro-"

"Katherine?" Caroline said, walking closer to her friend.

"Caroline, I am so sorry.." she said, tears streaming down her face.

"Let's go somewhere more private." Caroline suggested. She took Katherine to her room so they could talk alone.

"Katherine, are you okay? Did something happen?" Caroline asked worried.

"Yes...Something did happen. I made the mistake of leaving you, I am so sorry! I thought that I needed space, that I needed to start over. But I was wrong." she cried out "from the moment that I left, I felt so lonely. I wanted to come with you when you found me, but I guess my pride was too big..." she said sadly "I'm sorry for what I said to you, about Klaus and you...I was so stupid!" she yelled.

"Hey hey hey!" Caroline calmed her best friend down "it's okay! We all make mistakes...How can I even blame you after everything that happened..." she said sadly.

"Thank you Care, I love you so much and I will never leave you again." Katherine said smiling.

"I love you too Kat!" she said hugging Katherine.
