Shaylie's POV
I called up Ross to see if he could come over for dinner too, just so things weren't completely awkward and I had him invite his family too, well, siblings. He showed up at 6 just a little bit before Tyler did. When I opened the door to see him standing there I pulled him into a hug. Then Tyler was here and I pulled him into a tighter hug and he kissed my forehead, which I was hoping no one saw. We sat down at the table and the conversation was awkward at the time. "What are they doing here?" Tyler leaned over to me motioning to Ross and his brothers. "Don't worry." I whispered. "I just don't want to lose you baby!" He smirked and kissed my cheek. "So, Tyler. Tell us a little bit about yourself. "Ratliff finally spoke up, being the over-protective brother he was. Tyler started talking about himself but I started spacing out. I felt something go over my shoulders and I came back to Earth. I looked at what it was and it was Tyler's arm pulling me close. I looked up and noticed the Ross couldn't look at me. I pushed out my seat and stood up. "I-I'll be right back." I said and walked away. "I, um, I'll be right back too." Rydel stood up and chased after me. We walked outside because I needed fresh air and Rydel chased me. "W-What's wrong?" Rydel said and I felt her hand on my shoulder. "This is awful, Ross can't look at me, Tyler is so full of himself, and Ratliff is being so frikkin over protective and it's so annoying, sorry, but you asked." I snapped. "Woah, Shay, its okay. Ross can't look at you because I think he is in love with you and can't stand the fact that you are dating Tyler. Tyler, honestly I think that's just his personality but you will get used to it, and he probably won't be if you talk to him about it. Ratliff, he's your brother, brothers are supposed to do that. Trust me, I would know, I have 4." She said. Next thing I knew Rose was outside too. "I got lonely!" She laughed. "H-he is in love with me?" I asked quietly. "Come to my house for a minute!" Rydel grabbed my wrist. "Me too?" Rose asked with peppiness in her voice. "Yes, you too." Rydel laughed. She brought us to her house and down to the studio. "What are we doing here?" I asked and Rydel pressed a button to play a recorded song.
"You've got them all hypnotized
Dragging them round by the eyes oh
They're lined up shoulder to shoulder
Like dominoes you keep knocking them over
And all them fools got diamond rings just waiting for you (waiting for you)
And I can't fool myself but we both know it's true
Cuz you walk into the room, girl you know you got it
Baby look around, you got a lot of options
What do I have to do? What do I have to do?
You're looking like a queen, walking through the palace
Fallin' on my knees, babe I'm losing balance
What do I have to do?
to be the latest choice?
Oh Oh, Oh yeah Uh" I
heard coming from the speakers. "W-what's that? Who sang that? Why are you showing me this?" I asked even though I didn't want the answers because I already knew. "Ross never writes songs like this. He came down here today and just started doing it, no thinking, no hesitations or anything. He kept singing until he noticed all of us down here. He would have sung more but we stopped him and then you invited us over for dinner." Rydel said. "Which we have to get back too, by the way." Rose piped in. "Anyways," Rydel shot Rose a look, "I honestly think he loves you." "Let's go, I'll talk to him later." We walked back to the dinner. "Where were you, beautiful? Everything okay?" Tyler asked greeting me at the door. "Perfect." I smiled and looked at Ross. "Well, dinner was awesome. Your brother and I really bonded and he's really cool. See you later baby!" He smiled and kissed my cheek. I pulled him in for a hug and said goodnight. The Lynch's stayed a little bit longer and I grabbed Ross and brought him upstairs. I grabbed my guitar from when I was like 14 and started strumming. "W-what's going on?" He asked. I never answered him, except with the song he wrote. "It's a beautiful song, but I'm with Tyler. You told me you were cool with it, are you?" I asked when I finished. "Yeah, why wouldn't I be? How'd you find that song? Why did you sing it to me? You were leading me on but then just dropped me." Ross snapped at me. "Ross, calm down. It's just a song and Rydel showed it to me because I was upset, I just heard it and it's been running through my head all night. I'm sorry, that wasn't my intention. You can leave if you want, I'm just going to go to bed, I'm messing everything tonight." I said getting off my bed. "I'm sorry, good night Shaylie." He stood up. "Wait, Ross." I called. "Yeah Shay?" He turned around. "Can you tuck me in?" He nodded and tucked me in. He kissed my forehead before he left and shut my light off and closed my door.
