Kaden carried me from the hospital to the car, and from the car to another house that I've never seen before. I assumed he'd be taking me back to the room I've been staying in which resides in the pack house, but Kaden explained to me on the car ride back that new initiates stay in those rooms, and once they've integrated into the pack by either finding a job or moving in with their mate, they get to live amongst the rest of the pack.
Without him realising, that small simple statement he didn't think anything of, made me feel more accepted in a place then I've ever felt in my entire life, simply because he's implied he's accepted me.
And that's all I really want to hear.
I twiddlled my thumbs for the majority of the trip back to the house, purely to debate whether or not I should tell him about the vision I had of the Moon Goddess, warning me about what is to come.
I know I should tell him, no need to tell him, because this is going to affect him as much as it's going to affect me. I only hope that he doesn't turn into an overprotective mate and never let me leave the house or lock me in a dungeon or something like that.
Maybe less dramatic.
The house is a few miles away from the pack house, west along the hill top. It's nestled at the end of a street between thick forests, and it's dark wood helps it blend in with it's surroundings.
You can tell that it is a very expensive house. It's three stories, made entirely of wooden logs, and it looks like it belongs in the snow. It has large, open windows, and a double door that matches the dark colour of the rest of the house. The door looks almost identical to that of the one leading into the kitchen, with detailed carvings of wolves and plants and the moon. But two large wolf heads are about head height up the doorframe, dominating the top halves of the door as they look at each other.
Both of them wear crowns.
"This house is beautiful." I breathe as Kaden carries me over the threshold. "It's nothing like I've ever seen before."
"My mum and built it about ten years ago." Kaden says gruffly into my ear, his arms tight but gentle around my body. "They saw a chalet like this in the Alps and fell in love with it."
"So have I." I say without thinking, and the warm spark that jolts through my body at the sound of Kaden's laugh in my ear has me melting into him.
"They flew the builders of the original chalet over here to build it. I'm glad that you like it as much as they do." Kaden says almost to himself as he strides into the foyer. "I want you to think of this place as home."
I won't deny that I blush, and I bury my head into his chest to hide the redness of my face.
The interior of this house is just as breathtaking as the exterior. Both the floors and the walls match the dark wood of the outside, the floor made of dark mahogany that is the same colour as the skirting boards along the walls. The wallpaper is a deep green which matches the dark green leather sofas and curtains. The fire in the living room is raging, spreading a nice warmth through the house.
Kaden strides up the large staircase two or three steps at a time, my small frame still in his hands, and he lightly kicks open one of the doors at the top of them.
He walks into a bedroom that is just as beautiful as the rest of the house, the colour scheme blues instead of green.
The bed frame is made of dark wood much like the rest of the house, but the sheets are a baby blue, swirling patterns in white scattered across the blue. The curtains are a deep blue much darker than the bed, and they match the carpet sat underneath the window seat.
