Troy's pov

The tension in the car was thick. Somehow I ended up driving the car that Willa, Asher, and Kailani rode in. The couple took the back seats while Kailani sat shotgun.

"How much longer?"

I glanced over at Kailani. She hadn't really spoken the whole ride, so it surprised me to hear her voice. "About an hour. Possibly longer in New York's traffic." She nodded. I hesitated to ask her what I wanted to. Asher and Willa were asleep. It would be safe to talk. "Hey, what do you think about those two?" I asked with a nod towards the back.

Kailani sighed heavily. "That they should break up. I would hate to see Willa get hurt because of this."

"Same for Asher. He thinks she has some kind of secret. Do you know anything about that?"

"No. But if she did she doesn't have to share unless she wants to. I mean you haven't told your girlfriend about our world." Realizing what she said, Kailani looked over at me with wide eyes. "I'm so sorry, Troy."

I slowed the car down at a red light before answering. "I plan to. Osa may not take the news well though. This life could scare her away."

She rubbed her tanned skin hands together. Kailani didn't look like her siblings. The only thing she had in common with Jason and Thalia Grace were the electric, blue eyes. Her chestnut hair was usually pulled back in a braid and her outfit was casual. "If she loves you, then she'll stay," Kailani said encouragingly.

"That's what I keep telling him," a voice from the back said.

"I thought you were asleep," Kailani said.

"I was until the two of you woke me up," Asher yawned. "How much longer? I'm hungry"

I shook my head. Of course, he would think of food as soon as he woke up. "We have time to stop before heading to Camp Half-Blood."

Asher began to celebrate, waking Willa up. He quickly apologized while Kailani and I silently laughed. We got the others on the phone and decided to stop at a restaurant. Harley was driving the car with Angel and Harmony. I know they had a much more peaceful ride. We got inside the restaurant to be seated immediately. The place was empty since it was before noon. It was a basic layout. Checker walls with a dining counter and booths. We had to take a booth in a corner to fit all of us.

"So I contacted Chiron," Harmony said. "He's arranging the victims to stay in the infirmary."

"This whole thing is so weird. And our whole lives are weird," Harley muttered as he picked up the menu.

"It's probably just a monster," Willa suggested.

"Would some monster have the next Great Prophecy begin?" Angel said.

A waiter came to the table and took our drink orders. The conversation was ceased even after we gave our food orders. I personally don't know what to think of who's doing this. It didn't seem like a human was the cause. The more I thought about it the more questions arose. I was glad for the distraction when the food arrived. We took half an hour to eat before heading back out. Kailani took over the wheel for the rest of the way.

It had been awhile since I came to Camp Half-Blood. I only visited during the annual celebration or on quests. The rest of our team in the other car hadn't been back since the attacks started. Attacks originally started in Camp Half-Blood. The camp was empty due to it being fall. All of the victims were year-rounders. They could've been in the wrong place or targeted. Just one of my many questions. Well, one good thing about that trip was I got to see my brother. He went to investigate a month ago with Jason Grace. They had been unsuccessful. They hoped we could do better. We were greeted by a crowd once we came down Half-Blood Hill. Only around thirty campers surrounded us.
