Osa's Pov

Aris only allowed me to pack one suitcase. Apparently, I was in immediate danger. He didn't even tell me where we were going. I figured we were going to the camp, but I didn't like being in the dark for too long. About an hour later, instead of pulling up to the camp, we're at a house along a strip of them.

"Where are we?"

"A safe house. Troy didn't want me to take you somewhere where you would have no freedom to walk around. Staying here will allow you to continue going to work," he said.

"Thank you."

"I'll come check on you in the morning. Some friends of mine will be surrounding the house," Aris told me as we walk in. It was a nice home. Only one-story, but spacious in width. Fluffy made her way to the couch in the living room. She walked around until she got comfortable. A TV was in front of the couch with armchairs scattered. The kitchen entrance was behind the couch and to the right of the living room were three bedrooms.

"Hope you like it," Aris said.

"I do. Whose home is this?"

"It's best Troy explain that to you."

"He's got a lot to explain."

He sighed. "I wish he would have told you all this sooner."

"It's not your fault."

I sat down next to Fluffy, who meowed at the shift of weight. "Are you working tomorrow?" I nodded absentmindedly. "What time?"

"Eight."

"A.m?"

"Yeah."

"You don't have school?" I shook my head while he came to sit down next to me. "If you were in school, what would you study?"

"Law. I would like to help those who can't help themselves."

"No wonder Troy is so in love with you. He tends to have the same hero complex," Aris said.

"Well, it's what I love about him too."

"I guess I should let you get some sleep."

"Wait!" I wrung my hands as I stood up. "How much danger do you think I'm in?"

"I can imagine it's not as bad as you think. Troy just wants to keep you safe."

As soon as I locked the door after him, I texted my team my address. We definitely needed to have a meeting with Ekon closing in.

Someone was constantly by my side for the next two weeks. Whether it was Aris, Cailyn, or both depended on who was available. Cailyn was a daughter of Aphrodite with black hair and hazel eyes. She was a kind person who always assured me everything was okay. Aris was just as positive but more protective. Though I do enjoy our talks. Bailey had noticed a difference in me since he hadn't seen me texting Troy or talking about. I avoided that topic because I honestly didn't know what Troy was doing these days. After he convinced me to go with Aris, I hadn't heard from him. He was being a coward in my opinion. It may not be ideal to tell me his life story over the phone, but it's better than nothing. Aris and Cailyn wouldn't tell me anything. I could see their sympathetic looks whenever they thought I wasn't looking.

It was the day for my meeting when I finally felt in the loop. Aris and Cailyn were in the car when they came to pick me up. They had started to do that more. Something even more terrible must have happened. "Good morning, Osa," Cailyn greeted.

"Morning," I said, climbing into the back of the car.

"How long are you working?" Aris asked.

"Until seven."
