Chapter 26

April's POV

"No" I said. My plan was to trick Carter and act like I wasn't going to go with him to prom.
His face dropped and he looked sad.
"What do you mean?" he asked sadly
"Haha you should have seen your face of course I'll go with you" I said and kissed him. He was shocked at first then kissed back.
"Good cause I don't know what I would've done" he said and pecked my lips one more time.
"What are we gonna do now?" I asked leaning my head against Carter's chest.
"Well I brought a picnic basket so you wanna eat?" he asked
"Sure!" I yelled. He just chuckled and sat down on the blanket.
We spent the rest of the night until 9:00 eating and laughing.

It was 12:00am and I woke up from a tap on my window I jumped up and opened it when someone pulled me out and put a bag on my head knocking me out

When I woke up I looked around and saw I was in a room with metal bars. My head and literally everything else hurt like crazy. I screamed and held it when I heard footsteps running towards the room. It opened and a scary looking man who looked like he was in his mid-thirties covered my mouth with his hands so my scream was muffled.
"Shut up!" he yelled and slapped me. That's gonna leave a mark.
"Now listen here girl, we are going to mess with Carter a little bit and then maybe I'll think about letting you go. But you will never see Carter again." he laughed deeply.
"It's early morning so how bout we give Carter a little call shall we?" he said and pulled out a phone.
"You say anything about where you are or who your with I won't hesitate to hurt you" the man said eyeing me.
The phone started beeping signaling that it was ringing

Carter's POV

*before the phone call*

I was just chilling in my room when someone knocked on the front door.I walked down to the door and opened it.It was Blake.
"Is April with you?" he asked
"Uh no" I said.
"What do you mean where is she?" I asked panicking a little.
"Dude I don't know I went to wake her up this morning and she wasn't there" he said.I hope she's okay
"Did you call her friends" I asked
"Yeah a called Carly but she wasn't with her and some other girls." Blake said looking worried.
"Shit shit shit shit" I said pacing back and forth.
"Alright umm I'll go home and call her you call her too and uh then ill call you" he said(that was confusing)
He walked out the door and I walked in the kitchen and I was trying to figure out what I was gonna do when my phone started ringing.
I picked it up and saw it was from a anonymous number.
"Hello" I said
"Hello Carter, Do I sound familiar?" a voice that I knew really well sounded from the other line.
"Shawn" I grumbled
"Oh no need to get sassy, I have something that is very near to you Carter" he said,the first thought that came to my mind was April.
"Where is she?!" I yelled into the phone.
"Oh Carter she is right here. Say hi April" Shawn said
"Carter I'm ok, I swear. Don't panic" she said. I knew she was just saying that to make me feel better.
"April baby, I'm coming to get you I promise." I said
"Haha I don't think so Carter, I might just keep April here for myself" he said. He must have touched her cause a heard she whimper.
"Don't you fucking touch her!" I growled into the phone
"Well Carter you give me what I've wanted for a long time and I'll give you what you want,or maybe this beauty will stay here with me" he said
"If you touch her one more time" I threatened
"Carter it's ok I promise" her voice sounded weak.
"What did I tell you about speaking!" he yelled. I heard a smack and then the line cut-off...
