Chapter 30

April's POV

"I can't believe prom is today!" Carly squealed.
"I know!' I yelled. We were sitting on my bed looking at magazines in our shorts and tank tops.
"Should we go get our nails done?" she asked. I really did need a manicure and pedicure,and we did have time,we had like two hours until we had to get ready.
"Yeah let's go" I said
*Skip getting there nails done*
When we got home we ran upstairs and I jumped in the shower.
I was in the shower scrubbing my body with my body wash. When I got out Carly blow dried my hair then curled it. I slipped on my dress and it still fit perfectly. I walked over to Carly
" Sit down I have to do your makeup" she said and pushed me down on my vanity seat.
After she was done she walked me over to the big mirror on the wall and uncovered my eyes making me gasp at the sight of me.
My hair was curled in a side bun with curly pieces coming out and a pretty diamond clip. My makeup was gorgeous with a light eyeshadow and some light blush and my eyelashes looked long and amazing.
"One more thing"Carly said and went to her bag and pulled out a shoe box. She handed to me and I opened and saw a pretty pair of silver sparkly pumps.
"Oh my gosh Carly these are so pretty!" I squealed and slipped them on
"I still can't believe we are going to prom,its going to be so much fun!" she squealed
"Girls are you ready? Carter and Nate just pulled in!" I hear Blake yell from downstairs.
"Yes!" Carly and I yelled at the same time. Carly was wearing a red dress that had some pretty diamond details and her hair was straight and pinned back.
We checked ourselves one more time then walked down the stairs.
When we got to the living room Nate smiled and walked to Carly, but Carter still had his back turned to me busy talking to Blake.
I coughed and he turned around,his jaw opened and his eyes widened. I'm pretty sure I looked the same, he was wearing a black tux with a tie the same color as my dress. He looked amazing.
"Uh are you guys just gonna stare at each other?" Blake asked breaking me away from my thoughts. Carter walked over to me and smiled. I reached over and wiped the drool from the edges of his mouth,giggling.
"Well that's not embarrassing" he mumbled sarcastically,making me laugh even more.
He leaned in and I thought he was going to kiss me when he whispered in my ear " You look beautiful" and pecked me on the cheek making me blush.
"Thanks,you look amazing too" I said back.
"Yeah yeah you both look great can we go now" Carly said making us all laugh. That made me think of something.
"Hey Blake where's Leah?" I asked him(if you don't remember who she was that's Blake's girlfriend)
"Right here!" she yelled and walked out of the kitchen. She was wearing a pretty coral dress that had pearls around the chest area.
"You look amazing April" she said to me.
"Oh my gosh so do you" I said.
"As I said before we all look great can we go now?" Carly asked.
"Yes let's go!" I said and grabbed Carter's hand pulling him out of the house to the car. We didn't want to get a limo because it was only gonna the six of us.
On the way to the prom we were just laughing and talking about pointless things.
When we finally got there we got a table and started dancing and having fun. A slow song came on so Carter out his hands on my hips and I wrapped my arms around his neck. We swayed from side to side as we let the music take over our bodies.
" Would you mind if I dance with my little sister for a second" I heard Blake say from behind me.
"No not at all" Carter said he then leaned over and whispered in my ear "I'll dance with you later,beautiful" then walked away
"Are you having fun?" Blake asked me.
"Totally" I said back.
"That's good,you look really pretty April" he said then continued to say "I can't believe how grown up you've gotten, I feel like I haven't played my big brother role in protecting you. You got in a car accident and got kidnapped and I wasn't there to protect you,your boyfriend was." Blake said and you could see the tears rimming his eyes.
"Shut up" I said sternly. He looked at me with wide eyes.
"You are the best freaking brother a girl could ask for, you practically raised me because Mom and Dad were never home. Do you remember in 2nd grade when that boy pulled my pigtails and you beat him up?" I said,he started laughing
"Yeah I got suspended for a week and got a time out" Blake said sniffling.
"See you are the best brother in the world, that happened to Carly once and her brother paid the boy to pull her hair." I said thinking back to the story Carly told me. He actually paid the boy to pull her hair. That's awful.
I'm really lucky to have a brother like Blake. He's always there for me and after I got kidnapped and Carter found me he stayed at the hospital all day and night making sure I was okay, he would bring me Milkshakes and tacos,because I didn't want to eat the disgusting hospital food.
"But for now on I'm gonna step up my game and be a better brother." He said seriously.
"How could you get any better Blake?" I said. He hugged me. I heard a the sound of a picture being taken making me and Blake pull away from our brother-sister moment.
I saw Leah standing there holding a camera.
"Awwwww this is so cute!" she yelled making Blake and I laugh. Carter walked us and asked"Can I have my gorgeous prom date back now?"
"Yes of course" Blake said and went off to dance with Leah.
Carter and I were dancing to a song when he said "I have to go to the bathroom, I'll be right back"and kissed me in the lips.

It been 10 minutes and Carter hasn't been back yet. Should I go look for him? Yeah I should.
I left the school gym and walked down the hallways. I started checking rooms and he wasn't in any of them. Hmm. Where is he?
My thinking got cut off by a sound coming from the science room.
I walked over to the room and opened the door to see Carter and Stacy(if you don't remember Stacy she's the school slut and Carter's ex) kissing on one of the desks.
I was shocked. He was cheating on me? I could feel the tears. I didn't want to make a sound but suddenly a low sob escaped my lips making Carter freeze.
He looked over at me with wide eyes and ran over to me. I was full on crying now.
"How could you!" I yelled and pounded on his chest which didn't seem to faze him.
"April it's not what it looks like" he said looking me in the eyes. His eyes were full of regret and sadness.
"Just save it" I said and ran out of the room,ignoring Carter yelling my name telling me to come back.
