Are the kind you don’t see on tv
not beautiful enough,
not sad enough to invoke your sympathythere are 5 Elevators,
but no music, no sound
fluorescent lights
and breaths are held,
stand your groundIn the elevator is
a black man,
a korean,
2 indian ladies
and a little muslim boy.
maybe the white buildings aren’t so white after allnothing happens in the white buildings.
murder and rape don’t count, it seems
maybe no one has ever heard,
bc silent sounds will eat your screams.
But this is Dixon CityBut pay no mind, the violence is just in your head,
pay the bank, pay the bills
or don’t
and you get evicted.the white buildings are
all you’ve got
are immigrant dreamsctto..
