Gently, I spread the soil over my small seed. I lift my pot of dirt and one seed from the planks of the deck, and I place it beside my sibling's one. They stroll onto the deck, watering can in hand. They lean over their plant pot, and water streams out of the small holes in the spout.

"Here." They said, passing me the watering can. "You water your one."

I grasped the handle as my sibling let it go. I pour the water into my pot, a little puddle appearing but soon vanishing. I sighed, setting down the watering can beside my pot.

"Now. We wait." I said.

~~Many weeks later~~

I haven't seen my plant in a while, at least a week I think. I haven't watered it since there was a bit of rain over us for at least a week. My sibling always goes out there to check on them. I'm not sure why. But finally, I get to see how my plant grew.

I approach the sliding glass door, and pull it open. I turn to where my pot should be and what I see has saddened me greatly.

I see my plant, an ugly green and brown, wilting. I walk towards it, my sibling strolling outside behind me. I gingerly hold one of the healthiest leaves of my plant.

"What happened?" I ask, turning to my sister. "I-it should've got plenty of water."

I glance at my sibling's plant, it's blooming with beautiful flowers of red and yellow.

"Your plant got too much water." They said. I suddenly notice how their flower pot had been moved underneath the cover. Now I know why they kept going outside during the rain, just to make sure it didn't soak up so much water.

"Why did you move yours and not mine!" I ask, fuming.
"It's your responsibility to look after your plant!" They said.
"MY PLANT IS DEAD!" I yell, pointing at my wilting flower.
"It's not my fault it died." They said, crossing their arms.
"I HATE YOU!" I scream.
"I HATE YOU TOO!" They scream back.
