The next morning you get up, put on a light jacket, gather your new song and guitar case, and make your way to the coffee shop.

Levi is already there, with his guitar and music stand set up. You smile and ruffle his hair, making him swat your hand.

"Hey, I spent seven hours on this hair," he says, now fixing it.

"Oh, shut up; no one cares."

He glares at you, as you pull out your instrument, and stops you out of nowhere. His eyes pierce into yours.

"(Y/N), I know I haven't been there for you lately. I get it. But I want to start hanging out again like we used to. I miss doing this."

You're shocked at your brother's tone, he's almost never this serious. You don't know how to react, so you just brush him off.

"Yeah, yeah, whatever." You continue to unpack your guitar. He sighs at your response.

"Okay, let's see what you've come up with," he says, pulling out the song you wrote. He look at it impressed.

"Wow bud, you came up with this chord structure all by yourself," he asks with a proud smile.

"Yep--" you cut yourself off.

Levi looks at you worried.

"Wh--"

"Levi, look!" you point to a boy with a grocery bag of eggs and swollen, red eyes, obviously from crying too long. He looks to be alone, without a guardian. You put all of your stuff at the bench to go attend to the boy. "Watch our stuff, I'll go see if he needs help," you say, jogging over to him. Levi rolls his eyes.

You approach him with a sympathetic smile. "Hey, are you okay, little guy," you say, bending down to his level.

'Where are this little dude's parents? He can't be any older than nine...poor guy.'

"My mama sent me to get her some eggs, but I lost the way to my home. Can you help me please," he asks between sobs, and buries his face in your side to shield the world from seeing him cry.

You embrace him, "Of course I will, little dude. Levi, get your butt over here, we got a mission!"

"Oh my fucking god..." he mumbles under his breath, packing everything that they just set up away, and walks over to you two.

"Okay, kiddo, do you know what direction your house is in?"

He sniffs, and rubs his eyes with his long sleeve, eventually pointing North.

"Okay, bud, let's go," you say, grabbing his hand, and walking towards that direction. "Do you know if it's a one story house, or is it two stories? And do you know what color it is you say, ignoring a dramatic, groaning Levi, slugging behind you. He cups his chin with his hand in intense thought.

"Now that I think about it, it's the only two story house on the block."

"Oh, you live on that block? I know exactly where that is!"

"Ugh!!!" Levi grunted.

"Shut up, you pu--uh, wuss! If you're so tired, lemme carry something," you yell, reading his mind as you walk backwards. The boy flinched. "Are you okay," you ask.

"Oh, yes. I think it's starting to rain."

You look up at the sky and see the grey, purple, and dark blue cottonballs mush together.

"Looks like we got to get you home quick, here," you say, hovering your jacket over his head.

"Thank you, ma'am."

"Hey, no problem, kid. You dont have to be so polite, ya know."

"Oh sorry," he looks to the ground. "I'm so used to being that way, I'm sorry."

You chuckle.

"Don't be, dude--"

The house becomes apparent in the distance, as the rain starts to pour. You and your group run to the house to avoid getting any more wet. When you all reach the porch, you pant, trying tp catch your breath, and ring the doorbell.

"You're a cool dude, we should be friends," you say, ruffling his thick, wet hair.

"I'm (Y/N), what's your name."

He turns to face you and tilts his head.

"My name?"

You cock an eyebrow.

"Yeah, whats your name."

He sighs.

"I suppose if won't matter if I tell you or not. Considering, you won't be able to tell anyone for a long time."

This alerts your brother, and he sets everything down, approaching closer to you two.

"Now!"

You feel someone restrain you from behind, making you scream. Your brother charges at him.

"Hey, what the fuck are you doing?!" Your brother towers over the man that holds your squirming frame, proceeding to climb on top of him, and punch the shit out of his head, making him release you.

"Fuck," he yells, gripping his head in pain.

Levi grabs your hand, and you run as fast as you can.

You hear a "Bang!" making you jump in terror.

Your jump didn't go straight in the air, however. You flew backwards as you and Levi fall.

"Levi, get up! We hav--" then you notice.

He faces up, mouth agape, and in between his empty eyes, a gunshot.

"L-Levi! Levi, get up!" you shake him.

You scream as more hands entangle themselves around your body to keep you.

The person who hold you wraps a cloth with a sweetish aroma to it. The boy slowly makes his way to you, rain bouncing off his hair.

"That's good, she won't be able to get away now. You can let her go."

"Tch..." he says, dropping you.

The boy bends down to your body, as you wail.

"My name," he leans in close to your ear."

"Is Nate." he whispers as you close your eyes, falling asleep.
