You throw your backpack down and flop over on your living room couch. Right as you start to close your eyes, you get a text. Thinking it's Hideki, you pick it up and look at the screen. You sigh when you realize it's your brother. You open the text app to see what she has to say, only to gasp as you read what's on your phone. Your bother sent a text earlier with a link that reads "Kira is Back." You read through the article.

As you scroll through the article, you panic.

"How the hell?! Does this mean--" you say to yourself, being cut off by your own jumbled thoughts.

You do some more research, and notice some differences.

"Aha," you declare to yourself, typing up a theory on your laptop.

"A copycat!"

The next day after school, you walk up to him.

"Hideki, have you heard about the recent killings," you enthusiastically ask.

He looks at you with his expressionless gaze.

"Yes I have, this must mean Light really wasn't Kira," he states.

You look at him with wide, passionate eyes.

"Yes, at least, that's what I thought at first."

Hideki tilts his head to the side and cocks an eyebrow.

"Hmm? What do you mean?"

You suddenly grab his hand and run, heading to your house, the sudden contact making Hideki blush.

"I have my theory typed up on my computer at home! Come on, we don't have any time to lose," you yell, dragging the poor man behind you.

You arrive at your house not long after, and start to pull out your laptop on your bed, finding your data.

Hideki looks around the room.

"Nice place you have..." he says with an open ending.

"Okay, here we go," you say, standing up, gesturing towards the laptop.

Hideki attempts to lean over to gaze at the screen, but loses his footing.

He falls on top of you, making your body slam on the rug beside your bed.

His mouth is agape and weird sounds are coming out of it, as his eyes are the widest you've seen and staring into your own.

"Ah, uhhhh, um, ah, I, um, uhhh--"

"Tch, pansy," you say, rolling out from under him, pushing him off.

He takes a second to get up, as you look in the mirror to fix your hair. He jumps up, completely normal once more.

"Sorry about that, let me see your data."

You sigh, "Here we go."

You hold up the laptop for him to see. He observes the different facts, charts, and graphs you've put together.

"Interesting. So you believe there are two Kiras?"

You nod your head, enthusiasm coming back.

"Yes. It might just be a hunch, but I have a bit of evidence to back it up. This Kira is much more reckless than the first; this Kira isn't as smart, killing petty criminals, for things such as small robberies. Also, these crimes were only announced in Japan! This isn't a coincidence."

L looks at you amazed.

"Wow...I'm intrigued by your theory.

"Well, it's good to know we're on the same page here."

Hideki nods, putting his thumb to his lips.

"Anyway, do you want me to fix you something while you're here? I have some stuff to make smoothies; I can whip up a quick smoothie for you, if you'd like."

He tilts his head, in awe of your kindness.

"No, it's oka--"

"No seriously! I insist. My milk is gonna go bad anyway."

He softly chuckles at your subtle joke. "Well, if you're gonna hold me hostage here, I don't think I have a choice, do I?"

"Nope," you say, getting out frozen berries and ice cream out of the ice box.

You hum as you pour the milk and other ingredients into the blender.

You feel his stare on you, but write it off.

'Nice try, fate, I'm not making that mistake again!'

However, Hideki is staring. He sits with his knees to his chest at your kitchen table, and stares at your body, moving his finger across lips.

"Hmmm... I need to go to the restroom," he says, standing up once more.

"Okay, it's the door closest to my room," you say, topping off the smoothie with some whipped cream, and starting to make some coffee for yourself.

He comes back to find his smoothie ready, with you sitting on the chair across from his. Scrunching down on the chair, he hesitantly sips the smoothie.

You look at him with happy eyes, as he stops drinking, and opens his mouth to speak.

"Thank you, this is very good," he says in hidden pleasure, sucking the heck out of the now empty cup, trying to get every last drop.

You hear your phone ring.

"Hello?"

"Hey, I'm at the coffee shop," you hear on the other side of the line.

Your face contorts when you realize your mistake. After he texted you the day before, you promised your bother that you two could catch up over coffee.

You frantically rest the phone on your shoulders and throw the dishes in the sink, leaving Hideki in confusion.

"Okay, I'm on my way," you say, hanging up.

"Hideki, I'm so sorry. I forgot that I planned a meeting with my brother, I have to leave."

Hideki jumps off the chair and lies, "Oh no, it's okay, I had to get going anyway. It was nice talking to you."

"Yeah, same," you chirp, holding the door open for Hideki, him accidentally brushing your shirt as you follow behind him.

At least that's what you thought. This, however was no accident.

You, without knowing it, now have a bug on your sleeve, making L content as you part ways.
