Ch. 12

Hey! I don't know whether to post the chapters once I'm done writing them or if I should keep to a schedule. If I post them as I go here will be early and late updates. Let me know!  😜

Izaya's pov

" so what's the problem?" He asks looking at us"Izaya threw up blood" he says looking at me. " he also had a bit of a...break down"

Shinra walks over to me as I sit up. "Have you had anything to eat today?" He asks.

" n-no but I was going to" I lie.

" Have you been feeling light headed? Dizzy? Nauseous?"

" I felt nauseous before I was sick," I tell him.

" Have you eaten anything in the past few days?" He asks.

"Y-yeah"

" did you keep it down?"

"S-Some of it"

" Well I would say that your stomach muscles aren't used to this amount of food, so it must have torn some of them causing them to bleed, but as for why you were sick in the first place.." he stops to think.

"Well?" Shizuo asks.

" I would say it's probably stress, your  body is trying to adjust to eating and your unstable both physically and mentally right now and-"

he stops talking and picks up my arm. I wince in pain. " what happened to your hand, does this go all the way up your arm too?" He asks inspecting the bruise that covers my hand.

"Well, uh..-" I'm cut off my Shizuo.

" That was me, sorry," Shizuo tells Shinra. " I told you not to hurt him! you know he's fragile!" He says.

I huff. " you're acting as if I'm some sort of antique," I say. " Izaya, take me seriously, and Shizuo you could have broken his arm!" Shinra says.

" sorry, I wasn't thinking straight, it's not broken is it?" Shizuo asks.

" No, but it's a close call, Izaya just because it's not broken doesn't mean it's not damaged, I'm gonna need you to wear a splint on your arm for the next week or so, just to be safe"

" but-" Shinra cuts me off.

" You don't have to wear it all the time just don't pick up anything too heavy, Shizuo can do that stuff," he says.

"Gee thanks" I hear Shizuo say.

" Well you got him into this mess, the least you can do is help him out of it," he says.

" I know," Shizuo says sitting down on the chair opposite us. " anyway can you think of anything that's been stressing you out lately, Izaya?" Shinra asks me.

" not really, having some time to myself would be nice though," I say glaring at Shizuo.

" Izaya, you need to be on a one to one, that means 24/7 care, I can't leave you on your own for a second," he says. 

" so even if you want time to yourself, you know I can't let that happen, so there's no point in blaming Shizuo, " he tells me.

"Anything else?" He asks me.
" Well... I have been feeling down a lot more lately" Shinra looks at me for a second.

"What?" I ask him.
" Izaya, how long would you say you've been feeling down for?"

I think about the days where I don't even want to get out of bed, or even exist at all.

The days I would feel too anxious to sleep at night, only to fall asleep at my desk the next day. The days where I would drink until I pass out, or even the days where I would talk to myself, just to feel less lonely.

I think about the days I would sit on the edge of the roof for hours, just waiting to fall off. Those days happen more and more as time goes on.

" for a while now, I just don't seem to feel any better as time goes on," I say.

" And what about this ' breakdown' Shizuo said you had?" He asks.
" I wouldn't say it was a breakdown, more of a stress relief-"

" Izaya, you worked yourself up so much that you threw up! Blood to be exact!" Shizuo shouts.

" but stress-"

"I don't think stress is the word you want, I think breakdown describes it perfectly!" Shizuo shouts cutting me off.

" Have you ever been so ' stressed' to the point you've thrown up before?" Shinra asks me.

"Well,... uh, yeah... I guess I have" I say letting out a nervous chuckle.

" Have you ever passed out from stress before?"

" ...yeah... I guess I've done that too.."

Shizuo and Shinra look over at me and then each other.

" Izaya, have you ever heard of depression before?"
