Chapter 52 tori

She called me scruffy. No one calls me scruffy and there is no way she is cutting my hair. The stupid hair dresser will do it when I get a chance to go there but no way, no way in hell is she touching my hair!

We rushed off the bus and Lis ran to Darrel babbling on about how great the water would be.

I hung back a little but followed them through the sand to the edge of the water.

Lis and Darrel jumped in immediately and I smiled as the water splashed my legs. It was warm like the shower.

"You coming Tori?" Darrel called.

They were knee deep in water already, splashing water at each other and laughing like maniacs.

"Yeah in a sec" I replied dipping my toes into the water.

"Hey Tori!" I turned at sound of a familiar voice and smiled. "Help me with the shopping would you?" Ambrose held the shopping bags up and waved them above his head.

"Sure" I ran up the beach and back to the bus taking a few more bags from the trolley Ambrose had lugged back here.

"Did you steal a trolley?" I asked with a smirk.

"No, I borrowed it" he said.

"That's pretty much stealing" I laughed.

"I'll return it later" he shrugged.

"Whatever you say" I muttered climbing the bus.

Ambrose and I entered the kitchen and started unpacking the frozen and cold foods into the freezer and fridge.

We worked in silence packing away the food and making sure it wasn't going to go off.

After the shopping was away Ambrose ran up stairs to change into his board shorts and I left the bus.

"Meet you at the waters edge" I called out to Ambrose before I left.

I was standing in the wet sand up to my ankles in water waiting for Ambrose when strong arms wrapped around my waist and dragged me further into the water. I screamed, partly in shock and partly in fear.

Suddenly the arms were no longer around me and I was flying through the air before slamming into the water and gasping.

I tried to get my footing in the wet sand and pulled myself to my feet coughing and spluttering.

I turned around quickly trying to find my attacker to come face to face with a smiling Ambrose and the worst part was,

He was laughing.

"You fucking asshole" I screamed punching him in the chest and splashing water in his face.

We were only knee deep in water and my heart was beating in my throat. I'll admit, I was terrified but I couldn't help it, I smiled.

Ambrose wrapped his arms around my waist again and dragged me further out into the water kicking and screaming in protest. We reached Lis and Darrel and they were laughing too.

"That was not funny!" I shouted punching Darrel in the shoulder and turning back to Ambrose seething.

"Tori, calm down" Lis said quietly and I shot her a glare.

She returned it with her own cold stare and I think we stood like that for a while, neither one of the four of us moving. I didn't think I was breathing either but that just made the whole situation funnier.

In seconds Lis and I were holding each others shoulders for support as we tried to catch our breath, laughing too hard to speak.

"Girls" Ambrose muttered sharing a glance with Darrel before he to cracked up laughing.
