Chapter 18 Tori
'Thank god' I think happily knowing now that Lis hasn't told Ambrose my secret.
I look over at Ambrose who hasn't yet made eye contact with me. His jaw was tight and his mouth set in a thin line. It occurred to me that maybe Lis hadn't kept my secret but I pushed the thought away immediately telling myself she would never do that. I wouldn't doubt my friendship just because of one stupid thought.
I quietly ate my food while the others ate theirs listening to their conversation but not participating.
The bacon was absolutely delicious and the runny egg yolk filled my mouth with pleasure. I moaned like I was in heaven and smiled.
"What the fuck Tori?" Lis said.
"What?" I asked confused.
"You're moaning at your food" Ambrose had a wild grin on his face.
"I was not!" I said incredulous.
"Was too" Lis said.
"Was not"
"Hate to burst your bubble babe but you were" Ambrose looked at me and grinned.
I crossed my arms over my chest and instantly regretted it when pain shot up my arm but I bit my tongue to avoid showing the pain.
Ambrose kissed my nose quickly and shuffled closer to me. I giggled and looked at the table blushing.
Lis was smiling and giggling too and I suddenly felt lazy.
"Let's go watch a movie" I blurted.
"Okay what movie?" Darrel asked.
"What's in the cinema?" Ambrose asked and I shook my head looking at Lis for help.
"Not the cinema, our dorm. I can't sit in the cinema, it hurts" I said shrugging and then wishing I hadn't.
"Yeah, we have some awesome movies back at the dorm" Lis nodded in agreement.
Darrel and Ambrose shot each other a look and I wondered why for a second.
"What about the rules?" Darrel said.
"What rules?" I mentally slapped myself as I said it.
The police didn't know who the rapist and murderer and technically neither did I. I knew his face not his name and even if it's a Sunday, the school security guards would not agree with two teenage boys from the delinquents boy school coming into our school to stay in our dorm.
"We'll it's not like you haven't snuck in before" Lis said matter-of-factly and shrugged.
"Lis's right. We'll meet you guys there" I said quickly jumping up and leading Lis out the door.
We mounted the bike and left the diner before the boys had even walked out the door.
We arrived at the dorm and Lis pushed the dorm open swearing as she was lifted off her feet and dragged into the room.
"Lis!" I shouted rushing inside as fast as I could with my dead wrist and broken rib.
Inside Lis was laughing her head off with Darrel straddling her hips, tickling her.
"What the fuck man, how the hell did you get here before us?" I asked confused.
"You're pretty slow you know" Ambrose said quietly and I punched his shoulder. "But you still have a hard punch" he rubbed his shoulder and winced.
"That'll leave a bruise" Darrel laughed walking into the theatre room to pick a movie.
