"Oh my god," Emily said as we watched in terror. The line to get into the venue. It was huge! "I've seen airline queues smaller than this," she huffed.
I was shocked. The guys had this many fans?
This many fans so they would never have time to remember me or meet me.
Emily grabbed my wrist and dragged me into the queue. "How is this 'getting over Sam' business working for you?"
"Being at the back of an hours queue... wow, who even is Sam?" I said sarcastically.
"Do you even care were here?"
Of course I did. I was so scared that jokes were the only way to make me seem even remotely normal. Truth was, my brain was whirling and taking somersaults and my stomach had formed knots.
"I make jokes when I'm uncomfortable or scared, you know that!" I exclaimed. I was like Chandler.
There were signs on the poles saying how long the queue was from here. From the hour and 20 minute mark to the hour mark felt like an hour in itself.
"Do you think we will see them?" She asked.
"Of course we'll see them." I stated, "but not clearly."
"Right," she huffed.
Inside the venue was packed with Impractical Jokers merchandise and posters of shows this year. Household names. Everyone knew these celebrities.
"I can't believe we're inside!" She squealed. "WE'RE IN THE SAME BUILDING AS THE TENDERLOINS."
"Calm down," I laughed. It was hard to contain your excitement when 20,000 people are crammed into the same line. Pushing, dragging you, pushing past you. I'm not sure if I was saying calm down more to myself or to Emily. I couldn't stay calm.
"Right," Emily said, "bathroom break!"
She flounced off to the bathrooms and returned still as giddy, "now our seats!"
"OH MY GOD, what if it's already started? We've missed it?" She yelled, causing people to stare in our direction.
"Calm down," I repeated, "people are staring."
"I'm going crazy!" She yelled, "I can't keep myself contained whilst I'm in the same BUILDING AS SAL AND Q AND JOE AND MURR."
"I know, I'm excited but no Ines staring at me."
"OH MY GOD," she screamed.
"What?"
"I forgot my banner!" She yelled.
She looked like a 6 year old at a sweet shop. I did love her but she was way to over reactive.
"We are way at the back, I'm sorry," she whispered. We were.
There were people within yards from the stage. I envied them.
The crowd was tense with anticipation which was enough to release my excitement onto Emily.
The jokers bounded onto the stage and the crowd roared and cheered. It was a feeling I had never experienced. An uplifting feeling.
"OHH MY GOD!!" Emily kept screaming, making it impossible to listen to the four talking on stage.
"We are so happy to be here!" Sal exclaimed, making an uproar from the crowd.
The minutes turned to hours and we were suddenly getting rushed to leave.
"That was amazing!" Emily squealed.
"It really was," I agreed. Best show I had ever been to.
As we got through the doors, my phone began ringing.
It was Casey.
The producer.
"Hi Casey!" I said through the phone.
"Hey, I just wanna let you know we're back in town."
"Yeah, I know!" I shouted through the phone- I could barely hear myself or him. "I'm just leaving their show!"
"No way!" Casey yelled, "you gotta come backstage!"
"Seriously?"
"Yeah, I can get you in." He laughed, "just meet me by the stage. It's cleared out now."
I could just see him. From the upstairs doors to leave, there was a small figure on the stage. Small but easily found.
"I'll be right there."
