I ditched Brad and took Annie's advice not to cook him any dinner. Actually, I called Olivia while Brad was still gone at work.

"Oh, crackerjacks! You finally called, I want to tell you something. I have not contacted you since you were assaulted. By the way, I want to apologize for the night of the party. If I had been watching you more closely, that man would have never tried to rape you. I am glad your so-called night in shining armor saved you because I would have never forgiven myself if something had happened," my friend said from over the phone.

"That's okay, I'm fine and it's not your fault. I should have been more aware of my surroundings," I replied, and it was true. I could have done a lot of things to prevent the incident from happening like leaving early, for example.

"Thanks, Jackie. Hey, Josh wants to know if you want to go shopping with him to get you some new clothes. He knows your husband was going to take you, but he just wanted to cheer you up. You should come. We're at the mall right now, but I'm about to leave. So, you're just going to be with Josh," she informed me. It probably would be a good idea to go. I decided that it would be a good decision to go. I mean, it's better than sitting around the house weeping because my husband does not have feelings for me.

"I'm coming. What mall are you guys at?" I inquired from Olivia as I shuffled in my closet to get me some shoes.

"We're at Southwest Bay Mall. It's still going through a lot of construction work so be careful when you arrive. Is Mister P going to drive you?" She wondered, referring to Brad and I's personal driver.

"Yeah, he is. I'll see you there, and tell Josh I just have to throw on my clothes. I should be there in thirty minutes," I said as I hung up the phone.

I got myself ready to leave, asked Mister P to drive me to the mall and before I knew it, I was standing in front of Josh laughing away. We had been going through the store trying on dresses. But a lot of them made me look like a grandma. I wanted to look fashionable, not like I had just got a makeover from Annie. But then again, even Annie did not wear dresses like the ones they had in this store.

But the fun was quickly ruined when I got a phone call from Brad. I answered it just to hear yelling.

"Where the heck are you? You're always cooking when I get home," Brad yelled from over the phone.

"I'm at the mall. Annie told me not to cook you anything," I said, angrily.

"Why are you so angry?" Brad questioned, in a shocked way.

"You...you said you hated me," I said and suddenly, I could not keep up my happy facade anymore. I broke down into heart wrenching sobs, and Josh looked over at me worryingly. He came over rubbing my back as I just cried. I could have dropped the phone, but Josh helped me. It was crazy to know your own husband hated your own existence on Earth. Annie had cheered me up at the house, but I was still depressed from the whole situation at times.

"Jackie, listen to me. I was just angry over something. I don't actually hate you, Silly Girl. Are you that naive? Gosh, you don't have to be so sensitive," Brad said, sighing, and I could tell he was running his hands through his hair.

"You don't hate me?" I asked in a shocked way. I could not believe he was actually saying this to me so I pinched myself to see if I was dreaming.

"No. Now, stop crying, wipe your tears, and tell me where you're at," my husband demanded.

"I'm at the Southwest Bay Mall with Josh," I answer, but I gasped as I remembered I was not supposed to tell him that. Brad hates Josh. I squeezed my eyes closed as I thought about what's going to happen next. Now he was going to come barging into the mall, acting all possessive.
