Casey has seen it all her life. She watched as buildings were destroyed and people were killed. People tried to hide it, but the government always had their way of finding out. In fact, just last year Casey's grandmother got very ill. Casey's parents tried to hide her as well as possible but the government picked up on her absence. Within a month her grandmother was taken. It was in that moment Casey realized how serious this is. School always meant straight A's, relationships always had to be perfect, and you have to stay healthy. If you are sick more than a week they know. Her parents tell her all the time about a world where imperfection we accepted, technology would crash, and old buildings stood. In Casey's eyes, that is what heaven looked like. A place where you can be truly free.
