The next morning Casey woke up and noticed the skin around her ankle had turned weird colors. She gasped and almost fell over. In the mist of catching herself she knocked over a lamp. Her mother screamed.
"Casey!"
"I'm fine mom really."
Casey reached for her phone and texted Noah. He was the only one she completed trusted.
C: Hey..
N: Good morning everything okay?
C: Remember when I was bit yesterday?
N: Of course it's only been a day. Did you find out what it was that bit you?
C: No...
N: So why did you ask if I remembered?
C: The bite... is turning colors...
N: Oh.. hey maybe it's just a bruise?
C: Noah, I really don't think so.
N: Give it some time and don't tell ANYONE
Casey set down her phone and took a deep breath. She had finals coming up and couldn't afford distractions. She pulled out her books and started studying but now she's not sure if she will even get to take them.
