After months and months of studying for finals, Casey and Noah decided to go for a hike. Once they reached their destination they sat down and pulled snacks out of their backpacks. Noah looked over at Casey and noticed she seemed distracted.
"Hey, relax. It's going to be fine. I know you know all the answers."
Casey just nodded.
"Look at me." Noah grabbed the side of her face and faced her towards him. He kissed her gently on the lips.
"I promise."
And just like that Casey's fears melted away. Noah always had a way to make her feel better. In another world they would be together but in this one she can't afford for a relationship to break. No one can. After they finished their snacks, they started hiking back. As they were walking, a strange animal jumped out and attacked Casey's ankle. Neither of them have seen an animal like this before. Casey fell to the ground and kicked her legs to get the animal off. The animal was flung off and Noah ran over to Casey.
"Are you okay? Where did it bite you? Can you walk?"
"I'm fine, I'm fine."
When Casey stood up a sharp pain shot up her leg. She tried to hide the pain but Noah saw. They both had fear in their eyes.
"Hey were gonna be okay Casey it's probably just from the fall."
They both knew that was a lie.
