Noah pulled into the park and got out. Casey took a deep breath and followed. The beginning of the hike was okay but now she can barely stand.
"Noah... I can't. I'm sorry."
"Hey it's okay."
He ran over to her and started carrying her. Casey started to grin and it was all worth it to him. He carried her up to the place where they would always end their hikes. Sitting there was a blanket spread out on the ground with a picnic basket on top.
"Noah this is amazing. How did you do all this?"
"I told you I have some friends."
He set Casey down on the blanket and started pulling out the food. He glanced over at her. They both knew this was probably her final day. More than anything he wanted her to have the best day of her life today. Noah handed Casey her plate and sat down next to her.
"This is all so good. Thank you for this. Really."
"It is not a problem. I'm happy you like it."
"Why wouldn't I?"
"I need to get something off my chest Casey."
"Umm alright. Go ahead."
"I love you. And I know you don't want me to but I don't care. I love you. I want you to marry me."
"Noah... look..I love you too but we don't have time to get married. I won't be alive long enough for you to enjoy it. I'm sorry."
"Marry me today. I have it all set up you just have to say yes. And I will enjoy it. Every second of it. Please Casey."
"Okay. Yes. I'll marry you."
A smile spread across both of their faces. They finished eating and then Noah carried Casey back to the car.
