Casey woke up to Noah smiling at her.
"Good morning."
"How long did you let me sleep?"
"As long as you needed. Don't worry. I have a day planned for you today."
Casey looked in the car mirror and saw that the colors moved up to her neck. She faked a smile and turned to Noah.
"I have a few friends who aren't happy with the system. They said they want to help us any way we can. I told them we wanted one last hike. Is that okay with you?"
"Yeah, sounds perfect I can't wait."
"Sweet. They are going to find a way to close our trail down for the day."
Casey just smiled. It was a fake one though. She knew she didn't have the strength to go for a hike but Noah looked so thrilled. At that moment Noah's phone rang.
"Hey man.....hmm really?....okay...okay... thank you so much I owe you big time...yes..bye."
Noah sat the phone down and looked at Casey.
"We are all good to go. I'm heading there now. Are you sure you are okay?"
"Positive."
Not at all is what she really wanted to say.
