3rd Person P.O.V

It was few hours before the party started and everyone was rushing around to get ready. Mom had the girls' dresses done and all the girls looked stunning. Tsubaki's was a traditional Japanese Kimono-type dress, Liz and Patty's dresses were, by Kid's request, symmetrical but fashionable. The colors were white and blue and that's all Soul was going to say about that matter. Maka's, well, Soul thought Maka looked good in anything she wore, but Maka's dress to him was breathtaking. It was a dark green spaghetti strap dress that went down to her ankles. It was sort of similar to the dress she wore inside the Black Room. Soul also found out what Alice meant when she said she'd be seeing him later. She was making him, Kid, and Black Star try on suits left and right and it was getting a bit annoying. Soul didn't see what was so wrong with him wearing a normal black suit, but Alice said they had to stand out against the rest of the room. Soul honestly didn't want to stand out though. He already stood out, especially now that he's going to be playing the piano and the violin tonight.

In the end, he and Kid ended up wearing normal black suits, like Soul had suggested, but Black Star was wearing a navy blue suit. Alice said it was the only thing that went with his hair and wouldn't clash. She said that the black suits contrasted well on himself and Kid. Soul didn't understand why she went through all that effort if she was just going end up going with his idea in the first place. Of course he didn't say anything, because Alice was pretty scary when she was angry. When it was about time for the party to start, Soul finally figured out what he was going to play for his solo. He decided play "Moonlight Sonata" and for the duet with Wes, they decided to play "Bach's Double Violin Concerto in D Minor", but substitute one of the parts for piano. Soul heard Wes playing a few bars from "Carmen Suite No. 2: Habanera" and figured that was the piece he was going to play. This was definitely going to be interesting.

The guests arrived on time and were now in the ball room, talking and drinking alcohol or punch. They piano was set up off towards the left side a little, while long tables ran from one side of the room to the other, filled with all kinds of food. Black Star and Patty of course were pigging out and Liz and Tsubaki were trying to keep them from ruining their clothes. "Well, it's definitely a full house." Maka said walking up to Soul. He was standing away from the crowd. There were way too many people for his liking. He noticed that some of them were at the funeral too. Oh joy...

"Yeah."

"So have you decided what you're going to play?"

"Moonlight Sonata. It's the easiest piece that I know I won't have to put too much effort into." Soul said shrugging.

"When did you decide to play it?"

"Um, about twenty or thirty minutes ago? I'm not really sure, so much has happened since then." Maka's mouth dropped.

"You literally just thought of it like thirty minutes ago!?"

"Yeah, why so surprised?" She shook her head.

"You never cease to amaze me." Soul grinned.

"Good,"

"So what are you and Wes playing together?"

"Hm, I guess it's okay to at least give you the name of the song. We're playing 'Bach's Double Violin Concerto in D Minor'. We're substituting one of the parts for piano of course." Maka pouted.

"Will you tell me what the surprise is, please?"

"It wouldn't be a surprise if I did," Soul said chuckling.
