I could sense the hair on Eddie's neck rise as he thought of what to say. Luckily, he sighed and sat up from his couch, taking my arm and pulling me out of the living room. "Where are we going?" I asked as we ran down the hallway.

I saw Eddie grab something white, but it was too dark for me to fully see what it was. We entered a giant room and Eddie shut the door behind us, locking it just to make sure. "You wanted to know about Immortals, right?"

I nodded. "Then let me show you. But first, change into this." Eddie shove me the dress from earlier. I blushed as I saw he was guarding the door so I wouldn't leave. "I won't look, promise." He turned around just to prove his point.

I gave out a sigh and did as he said, knowing I have lost the battle. When I was finished, Eddie kindly zipped it up for me and pushed me to the mirror. The same events from before happened again, but the light was luckily a lot less dimer then last time. "I don't know if I should like the wings, or be terrified by them." I whispered, trying to feel them again. "But why can I touch them or see them outside if the mirror like yours?"

Eddie sighed. "Let me show you why."

He suddenly punched the mirror, which didn't brake at all. His hand went straight through, which meant it would be in the wall that was behind the mirror. When he finally pulled his hand out, the image of me disappeared on the mirror because it became cloudy and covered in mysterious golden writing. And within his hand was a piece of paper, decorated in gold.

"What is that?" I pointed down to the paper even though Eddie knew what I meant.

"Your timeline." He responded, throwing it back at the mirror. The golden markings vanished as the paper touched the glass, unrolling itself into a long strip of paper.

"My what?" I had no clue at what he meant.

"This shows your whole life, at least, what it was before you decided to cross paths with a devil." Eddie explained, pulling up random events from my life.

"Devil? There's no one that- Oh." I knew who he meant. How could I be so stupid! I should've known all along who the devil was: James. "How are there devils as well!"

"Everything needs a counterpart, whether good or bad." Eddie sighed, "But no, you would have lived a good life if you didn't do anything to us those few months ago. You would have fallen in love, and you would have gotten married to your true love."

"And who was my true love?" I asked.

"James." Eddie responded, sounding just as surprised as I was when I heard him say it when he looked at my timeline.

"But he's the devil! And you said I would have lived a good life by falling in love with him?! What is this bullshit!" I started to raise my voice, being saved by Eddie's hand to my mouth again. "Sorry." I whispered this time.

"It's alright. But I think I can tell you why your true love was James. It's because he actually died in a minor car accident over the summer, one too small to make on to the news because no one was really injured." He started to explain to me. "Someone revived him, but they used the magic of hell instead of heaven."

"Wait there's a hell too?" Eddie looked at me dumbfounded. "Oh wait, counterparts again, huh?"

"Yep. As I was saying, someone revived James, but he was not his real self. He was possessed, mainly because his soul was sent to Hell so the devil can completely take over his mind and body. And I knew that old James, but I didn't know he was gone until what he forced me to hurt you that day, which I highly apologize for. I was being controlled by him at the time and so was Kevin if I do say so myself. Aleks actually had some sort of revenge already, so all he needed was the encouragement." Eddie took a quick moment to breathe before continuing. "And because of what James was able to do, you committed suicide, which erased the rest of what your life would've been. But now, you get to chose how your life will be without the future already telling us."

"Wait, then is Kevin-" I stopped what I was saying, randomly at a loss of words.

"No, he's human. And so is Aleks and Natalie. Even though she was an Immortal at one point." Eddie said, sounding upset at mentioning Natalie's name.

"She was an Immortal at one point?" She didn't seem like it from what I saw.

"Yes, she was almost dead when someone revived her who was from Hell as well, but instead of possessing her, it made her human again and losing the memories of being an Immortal, which is why we broke up." Eddie sounded defeated at saying this, and I can't blame him.

"So if we are Immortals, then-"

"No, we do die. We just have two lives, which we already used up one when we died as a human." Eddie answered me before I fully asked.

I was amazed. "So why can't I touch my wings?"

Eddie sighed, concern all over his face. "It's because you are almost Immortal, and if you make the wrong choices you will be forever a servant to James and never an Immortal."

"What do I do then?" I asked. If I couldn't choose James, then who do I chose in order to become fully Immortal?

"Find your true love, simple. What's not simple is who it is now, but it's not me, Aleks, or James." Eddie explained.

"What if I do pick Aleks or James?" I wondered.

Eddie froze, looks like this maybe hard to say. "You will become a devil yourself."

Ok, that doesn't sound sweet at all. Then who is it? I wanted to ask again, even though I would get the same answer. My eyes widened as I realized it can be anyone from Eddie's friends to Kevin to, oh my, can Seamus be my true love? No, not possible. My head is spinning so much, I need to get out of this dress.

I tried to take a step forward as I stumbled to the ground. Eddie caught me within a moment. "Elle! Lets get you out of that dress and go to bed."

I nodded, only able to say "Ok." Eddie tried to help me but I pushed away and was able to change back into my pajamas myself.

I fell again as I tried to leave the room, so Eddie carried me bridal style to my makeshift bed on the floor. Instead, he gave the couch to my surprise.

"You need a good rest. And by the way, you must pick your love by graduation night in order to not die again. Good night." He kissed my head to show his worry.

I blushed, never being so gently kissed by a man like that before. My mind was still spinning about being almost Immortal, and that I must pick who will I love. Why must life be so difficult and confusing?

A/N: And this is where I might screw up the story, yay :D No, I will try my best not to mess up the story and I really want to finish it because I want to write a sequel for this.

Yes, there will be a sequel. But it won't come out for a long time after I finish this book. Sorry, I have eleven other stories to write in so I can't be too fast with starting the second book. I must go now, BYE
