Write me a tragedy
Filled with heated words and broken hearts
A silent night and slamming doors
Write me a tragedy
Pages of blood and long postwars
Conversations after a drink too many
shaking hands and doctors yelling
Write me a tragedy
of one-sided conversations
and beeping machines
Write me a tragedy
Of silent machines, with sobbing relatives
and confused children
A tragedy of a broken man
and a folded flag
"He was lucky to have a husband like you."
Why write a tragedy
when you can just live one in the first place?
