Melody
I looked over at Justin, he was a genius. "And what would you use, to per say an explosion happen?" He asked, nose in the book, but that troubled look still on his features.
I sighed "Uh," I scratched my neck awkwardly, knowing I hadn't been paying attention to the book, and more to him. He chuckled.
"What am I gonna do with you, Mel?" He asked, shaking his head playfully. "Mercury, and Plutonium 239." He ruffles up my hair, and looks down at the book again.
"This is boringgg." I drag the word.
"Melody, I gotta go, but I'll see you tomorrow. Mom wants me home." He gave me an embarrassing grin, and his cheeks heated up. "Aw, Justy Poo is a momma's boy?" I cooed, pinching his scarlet flushed skin.
"You know it," He slapped my hand away, and picked up his book, and his backpack, collecting his things. My face saddens, he's really going.
And we don't want him too.
My subconscious cooes, making a pouty face in his direction, which he's completely oblivious to. "Er, see ya." He gave me an awkward one arm shoulder hug, and walked out, leaving me there, lonely.
It's wrong. He's Farahs. He doesn't like you!
I scold myself. But that voice of jealously in my head speaks out; You should have him, not her . . You liked him first.
I told myself to shut the hell up, and collected my books up as well. "Bye." I wave into the empty space.
You could never get him, anyway.

The next day. was starting to bore me. Constant text messages from Farah about how sweet Kyle was had me in tears of laughter.
No way, I had said, Impossible.
I got a call from Justin, telling me to meet him at the hockey rink, he needed to talk to me.
I was ecstatic, until I realized, it was all about Farah.
So, I grabbed my skateboard, and drove to the school, where I found Justin, and a few friends battling for the puck.
"Hey look, Beyonće!" A friend of Justin's, Sam, pointed across the room.
"Oh no, I'm not falling for that again!" Justin exclaimed, chuckling.
I giggled silently. "Mel, you're here!" Justin says, his gaze on me. I smiled, and he gave one back, only to get knocked over. Sam dominated the puck.
"C'mon man!" Justin groans loudly, shooting me an accusing glare.
"Thanks, Melody. You work better than Beyonce." Sam grins patting Justin's padded back.
Justin rolls his warm brown eyes, and skates out to the side where I stood. "Go sit down somewhere, Jones." Justin shooes him away, and the other guy they were with.
Sam winked at me. "Call me, cutie!" He laughs, and exits to the locker room.
I grin at him, then turn to Justin. "What do you need to talk to me about?" I wondered outloud.
"Can't I hang with a friend?" He shoots me an innocent puppy dog look, I shoot him a glare, and before I know it, he gives in. Taking off his padding, leaving him shirtless, "Come," He takes my hand in his.
I gasp, and feel giddy inside.
Taking your best friends man? Whore!
The mean voice tells me. I stop, but my feet keep moving. He pulls me over, and opens the exit door, "Look," He breathes. I catch sight of Farah, and Kyle making out behind the gym.
You should be the one he fusses about. My jealous mind thinks as I scoff. "C'mon." I growl, and push the door all the way open,
"Mel, what the hell are you doing?" He whispers.
"Farah!" I yell angry.
Her head snaps to mine. "You said you were with your grandma!" I threw my arms up, figuring out the reason she blew me off. We were supposed to go shopping for the last dance.
She nervously smiled. "She let me go early, a—and well I ran into Kyle." She got out of his grasp. I heard Justin groan under his breath, and I realized I was still holding his hand
OhEmGee. He's not pulling away.
I pull away. Getting a glance from him, his hat tipped sideways. He didn't even know we were holding hands either. "Mmkay." A burst of anger rushes through me, and I turn to leave. "What about you, Melody? You're with a guy, too! You said you were shopping today!" She scoffed.
I let out a frustrated scream, and marched inside. "Why don't you just tell her, Justin? Like, really? I have problems, I have crushes, too." I rolled my eyes, walking to the benches.
"It's not that simple. Think about who you like, can you just look into their big brown eyes, and tell them you might love them?" He speaks about Farah, but his words affect me, as if he's talking about himself.
"No. I couldn't imagine it." I breathe out, and put a hand on his shoulder.
He gives me a small smile. "You see, Farah's so beautiful, and polite, fresh, something I like. She has her own way of doing her thing." He smiles as if he's picturing her. I rolled my eyes, where he couldn't see. "Yea. She's great." I grumbled.
"Wait — You have a crush on someone?" He grins.
I stare baffled at him. "Well, N—not, like, really, but—"
He cuts me off "Whooooo?"
I look at him, and swallow. "C'mon, Mel!" He pleads. I nod, and open my mouth to speak.
